IN SUMMARY: MOUNTAIN BELL is likely to improve plenty for a recent outing and a replication of her effort in a Group 3 at Newbury today should see her home in front. Daphne won a Listed event last time out and can follow up that run here with another strong performance to chase the selection home.

1 WESTERN HYMN – Plenty of support for John Gosden’s runner over C&D in a Listed event last time out. He finished fifth of 8, beaten 4 ½ lengths that day and he needs to do far more to come out on top here off top-weight.

2 MASTER THE WORLD – Won a Listed event at Lingfield last time out in a dominant fashion and he should make a bold bid for the hat-trick here. His stamina has sometimes been in question over 1m 4f which is a concern and the value may lay elsewhere.

3 NOT SO SLEEPY – Hasn’t been seen since early June when winning an Epsom handicap over 1m 2f. This is a big step up in grade and the absence is a concern so he may be best watched and the market will guide best.

4 RED VERDON – Beaten a head over C&D in a Listed event earlier in the month and a repeat of that effort should see him go close again. Stall 2 is ideal and PJ McDonald keeps the partnership intact so he’s respected here.

5 DAPHNE – Has won three of her last four starts including a Listed event at Lingfield last time out. She’s rapidly improving and she’s fully entitled to go well again for a yard in form. Jim Crowley keeps the partnership intact and she shouldn’t be far away.

6 INDULGED – Decent filly who should improve again for the step up to 1m 4f for the first time today. She was comfortably held in a Listed event at Doncaster last time out and she will need to improve to get the better of some of these in this competitive race.

7 MOUNTAIN BELL – Entitled to improve following her first run off a year break last time out in a Group 3 at Newbury. If she can replicate that form here with improved fitness she holds a massive chance and shouldn’t be far away in the finish.

8 TENERIFE SONG – Makes her first start in the UK and she was last seen finishing second in Turkey last October. She looks up against it on these terms and she can only be watched in this decent field.

9 ASTRONOMY’S CHOICE – Lightly-raced 3yo filly whose sole success came on debut in a 7f maiden at Newmarket last October. She hasn’t gone on as hoped this season and she was well-beaten in a Listed event in France last time out.

10 GREAT COURT – Takes a big jump in grade today following a 1 ¾ length success in a Class 4 Wolverhampton handicap last time out. She hails from good connections and improvement is certainly expected but this task looks too much at this stage.
