JP McManus purchases one of Britain's leading Cheltenham Festival candidates

Hugely progressive last season for Neil Mulholland, PETER THE MAYO MAN makes his debut for Paul Nicholls today and should make a winning return. He switched hands for £54,000 and the highlight of his form was a cracking third at Kempton in Grade 2 company, with that form looking strong. He goes well fresh and he can beat Speredek into second place, who arrives here on a five-timer. Verdana Blue is likely to be popular for her top connections but she tends to find very little off the bridle and looks vulnerable.
