A small field Class 3 novices’ chase for a prize of £6,498. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.
IN SUMMARY: Benatar created a favourable impression on chase debut and is greatly feared but he may have to play second fiddle to KEEPER HILL today. A useful novice hurdler who won as a very long odds shot should on chase debut and has plenty of scope to develop into a classy chaser.
1 BENATAR – Made an excellent start to his career over fences when bolting up off top weight in a competitive looking handicap at Ascot. He looked a horse of some potential that day and jumped like a stag, further progress is definitely on the cards and he should be seriously involved.
2 KEEPER HILL – Makes his second start over fences having got off the mark in a match race at a price of just 1/12. He won as he should that day but jumped nicely and he actually had Benatar behind him over hurdles in February, should serve it up to Benatar.
3 BRITANIO BELLO – A rating of 106 is forty-two pounds lower than what Benatar has achieved after just the one start over fences so he looks well out of his depth here. He has yet to win over fences and it’d be a remarkable effort were he to do so today.
