IN SUMMARYPRYING PANDORA ran a subsequent listed winner to a neck just three starts ago and a repeat of that should be good enough to take this. Alexandrakollontai won this last year and has been running with great credit as of late so should put up a good showing again.

EDGAR BALTHAZAR – Has been off for a year so you his fitness has to be taken on trust but he has won off a mark of 84 last year in June so his current mark is not out of his reach and if putting his best foot forward he can get involved.

ESCAPE CLAUSE – Was previously with Jessie Harrington and turned in three disappointing efforts in a row after a close second at Naas off a mark of 86, he runs here off 85 so has the potential to go well but is a risky proposition.

POUVOIR MAGNIFIQUE – Has become slightly disappointing having made a bright start to his career when running a good third at Sandown and following up at Ayr, needs to prove he is good enough to win off this mark but has potential and can’t be ruled out.

ALEXANDRAKOLLONTAI – Last year’s winner who comes into the race in excellent form having finished a close up fifth and third at Newcastle and Newmarket, no reason why he shouldn’t go well again on a surface he enjoys.

MY AMIGO – Moved to Karl Burke from Ann Duffield four starts ago but has yet to make any real impact with this yard and remains on a higher mark than when last winning in May 2016; needs to show more and probably best watched.

WAARIF – A lightly raced four year old who has had just four starts, won one of those and finished a staying on second last time out. He has more potential than most of the rest of these for improvement so should be on any shortlist.

ECHO OF LIGHTNING – Seemed to be on an upward curve after joining Roger Fell when finishing second to Shady McCoy in a big field handicap at York but has failed to improve on that when unplaced the last twice and has something to prove here.

TESTA ROSSA – Has a total of nine wins in fifty-nine starts and ran an encouraging race after a break last time. Was beaten just a short-head off this mark two starts ago and has won over this course and distance before – considered.

PRYING PANDORA – Beaten just a neck behind Titi Makfi three starts ago and that winner followed up in a listed race recently and that form entitles her to go very close, needs to improve on her latest two runs but should go well.

ESPRESSO FREDDO – Won a couple of starts in quick succession but has a slightly patchy record and was unplaced last time on the flat before an unsuccessful spin over hurdles, needs to find a bit more to get involved of this mark.

JOHNNY CAVAGIN – Quite a consistent performer who has not been beaten far at all in any of his recent starts, has never won at a mile however and is quite difficult to win with in general with his last success coming in July 2016.

MUQARRED – Has a very inconsistent profile having followed up a narrow victory by trailing in last at this track last time, has been dropped three pounds since that effort but is a rather risky proposition judging on the overall balance of her form.

PLANETARIA – Changes yard once again having made little no to impact in three starts for John Weymes, doesn’t come here with any real chance on the form book really needs to turn things around to get involved.

ZABEEL STAR – Not the most reliable with a tendency to fall out of the starts and will need to be much sharper if he is to get involved over a trip which is probably slightly short of his best; others make plenty more appeal.
