3.00pm Southwell Tips & Betting Preview 06/11/2017

3.00pm Southwell tips for Monday’s Class 4 race. Only a small field heading to post for this two mile hurdle, but it is an open field which should make for an interesting contest.. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: HIDDEN OASIS should be capable of much better now that he goes handicapping in this discipline. His flat speed could be a potent weapon in this field with a lack of a regular front runner. Celestial Magic has gone on in the past so perhaps he will be the pace angle, that makes him a key runner for Stepover who loves this track but needs a strong pace to chase. Generous Day may be the biggest danger then, improving in his two handicaps so far.

1 CELESTIAL MAGIC – Twice a winner at this trip last season on soft ground. This mark may be workable this season, while he could be the pace angle into the race which would make him dangerous.

2 MASTER OF FINANCE – Disappointing in this discipline given his ability on the level. These are his ideal conditions but will need to step up on his most recent form to get his head in front, despite this workable mark.

3 WOLFSLAIR – Primarily campaigned over further, his sole win came on good ground but over 2m 6f. The tongue strap he has been sporting is off for his new yard, but still twelve pounds above his sole win, he is very hard to support.

4 HIDDEN OASIS – Winner over a mile on the flat, he has shown ability in three hurdles for a mark. This sharp two miles with the potential to turn into a bit of a sprint could suit his flat speed, he looks well treated in his first handicap over obstacles.

5 STEPOVER – Needs a strong pace to chase, unlikely to get that in a small field of hold up horses. She loves this track, two wins and a second in her last three visits. sound chance if they go quick enough in front for her.

6 GENEROUS DAY – Steady improvement in his two handicaps, notably last time at Uttoxeter. This better ground could unlock a little further progression given how lightly raced he is, looks a big player in this field.
