3.50pm Ayr Tips & Betting Preview 30/10/2017

3.50pm Ayr tips for Monday’s Class 4 race. Despite the small field, this is an interesting little two mile chase, with a field full of younger types who have the scope to do better this season. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: VENGEUR DE GUYE has conditions in his favour from a tempting mark. He has had a run to put him straight already this season and that experience can be the difference. Minella Suite looks a winner in waiting from his current berth this season but can’t be backed at such short odds in this contest without seeing if he has brushed up on his jumping. Halcyon Days had an excellent campaign last time round, he needs more starting out from this mark but there should still be more to come from him.

1 VENGEUR DE GUYE – Not disgraced when chasing home the smart Pistol Park over this trip in February, he is four pounds lower now. Faded late on at Kelso last time having travelled well, that should have put him straight, looks a big player in this field.

2 HALCYON DAYS – Enjoyed an excellent campaign last time round for the much underrated Rebecca Menzies. Clocking up six wins in twelve starts, he was no worse than third in the others. Begins this season on a career high mark but with promises of more to come.

3 CRAIGANBOY – Jumping left a little to be desired last season in three attempts over fences. He picked up a win over an extra quarter of a mile here so conditions hold no fears. Rated nine pounds higher over hurdles in the past, he has scope for progression if tidying his jumping.

4 NINEPOINTSIXTHREE – Ideally suited by better ground, he didn’t show much on his chasing debut. Failed to win over hurdles either despite success at a low level on the flat. Hard to have much confidence in him under these conditions.

5 MINELLA SUITE – Promising debut over fences from this mark, his jumping has let him down the last twice. Sent off favourite for both those starts, he is clearly thought capable of better. Needs serious consideration as the least exposed in the contest.
