7.15pm Wolverhampton Tips & Betting Preview 27/10/2017

7.15pm Wolverhampton tips for Friday’s Class 4 race. An intriguing tight knit contest for a Friday evening, with twelve runners chasing a first prize of just under £4,700. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: ELDRITCH is one of the least exposed in here, the first time headgear should coax more out of him in a very winnable looking contest. Sennockian Star has been placed twice in four starts on Tapeta and ran well over the weekend at Catterick. Great Court shapes as if she is well worth a go over this sort of trip, she has won on her only start on this surface so far.

1 PARIS PROTOCOL – Just a maiden win to his name, he has been tried over trips from ten to twenty-two furlongs to no avail since. This is his debut on an artificial surface which will need to have a positive effect to coax more from him.

2 SPARTE QUERCUS – Progressed well in the last eight weeks over ten furlongs. This is a tight twelve but he doesn’t shape as if he is desperate for another try at this trip. Sole run on Tapeta was only fair, needs to step forward from a career high mark to win this.

3 ELDRITCH – Won his first two starts, but has improved on sand since being gelded. Fitted with first time cheekpieces may help this unexposed type fulfil his potential, no surprise to see more use made of him at this track.

4 RITE TO REIGN – Nearly three years since he last got his head in front, it’s longer still since he tried a trip as sharp as this. Has slipped to a winnable mark but the first time visor is going to have to make a significant impact for him to figure.

5 JUFN – Three pounds higher than when winning at Chepstow in the summer. He is a Polytrack winner so this move to Tapeta could suit. He didn’t look to stay this trip last time out at Kempton so it’s a surprise to see it tried once more. Opposed until proving his stamina.

6 SPES NOSTRA – Won on Tapeta at Newcastle the last time he raced on sand. Three pounds higher here, he will appreciate being back on this surface rather than the turf he has raced on of late. Has form over this trip but needs a little more against less exposed rivals.

7 MANCHEGO – Sole win came the only time he raced on Tapeta. Has flopped badly on turf since so the return to this surface plus first time cheekpieces might suit. The trip however is a concern, there is nothing in his pedigree to suggest a mile and a half is what he needs.

8 SENNOCKIAN STAR – Ran well on Saturday at Catterick when slipped to this mark. Placed twice in four runs on Tapeta so would have a solid chance at his best from this lowest mark for four and a half years.

9 GREAT COURT – Broke her duck on this surface, the only time she has encountered Tapeta. She shapes as if worth a go over this trip on a sharp course and with only eight runs to her credit, there should be more to come, each way squeak.

10 THISTIMENEXTYEAR – Lightly raced, he broke his duck over a mile and a half on deep ground at Lingfield. He was tailed off the only time he has encountered an artificial surface which leaves him with a little to prove.

11 CHOCOLATE BOX – Improved for the step up to further than this the last twice, including on Tapeta. The step back to this trip doesn’t look ideal, especially as he has never looked the most straightforward. Best watched on this occasion

12 ROMANOR – Took a long time to get off the mark, picking up a Windsor handicap last month. He was unable to back that up last time at Kempton but is potentially still open to further improvement on this surface.
