3.10pm Sedgefield Tips & Betting Preview 25/10/2017

3.10 Sedgefield tips for Wednesday’s Class 3 race. Small numerically but still an intriguing contest over two and a half miles, with a smart field going to post. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: APTERIX enjoys his racing at this venue, he can capitalise on his lower hurdling mark. This is a significantly easier race than the Listed contest he was beaten in last time out, a race that should have put him spot on for this. Theatrebar will be well supported as the majority of Dan Skelton’s are, but this ground could be lively enough for him. Vancouver may improve for the step up in trip, he appeals most of the remainder.

1 APTERIX – Predominantly seen over fences last season, he is rated ten pounds lower in this discipline. Has two wins and a second from four course visits so clearly the venue suits. Ground is fine, while a recent run at Market Rasen should have put him spot on.

2 THEATREBAR – Twice a winner in three starts for this yard last season. Still lightly raced for his age, there should be further improvement in the tank. Yet to run on anything quicker than god to soft so may require a drop of rain.

3 INK MASTER – Bold front running chaser for Philip Hobbs, he performed admirably on his debut for this new yard last time. Rated five pounds lower over hurdles so connections can’t be blamed trying to cash in on this mark, but the trip could stretch his stamina.

4 TOMKEVI – A wide margin winner over fences last time, he reverts to the smaller obstacles, The cheekpieces are removed that he won sporting last time, which has to be a question mark. He did at least show he wasn’t totally dependant on bottomless ground however .

5 VANCOUVER – Only a single win to his credit, but it was a visually impressive one. Thirteen pounds higher for that eighteen length success, he shaped last time out as if the step up in trip would be of benefit. Needs more but conditions will suit and still relatively unexposed.

6 FORTY CROWN – Veteran is generally seen to better effect with a stiffer test of stamina. Softer ground would suit him as well so it’s tough to support him from five pounds above his highest winning mark.
