3.50pm Huntingdon tips for Tuesday’s Class 3 race. A field of eight go to post for this competitive Novices’ Handicap Chase. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Ckalco Des Loges didn’t hang around over hurdles and he’s going to be a strong contender on chasing debut as he’s won a point-to-point, but ready preference is for CAJUN FIDDLE. She ran some cracking races over hurdles, set some very tough tasks to round out her hurdling campaign for Alan King. She has the scope to make a much better chaser and, with her current mark more than fair, she should take all the beating here.

1 CAJUN FIDDLE – Top weight who was rated 122 over hurdles, set some very tough tasks on her final two runs over timber. She has the scope to make a much better chaser and has her conditions, with her ability to go well fresh already proven. She should take all the beating on her chasing debut.

2 CKALCO DES LOGES – Didn’t hang around over timber for Dan Skelton, winning two starts ago at Bangor before finishing fifth at Stratford on his second run this season. He’s likely to make up to be a better chaser as he’s won a point-to-point and, with conditions fine, he should be on the premises.

3 OFFICER HOOLIHAN – Another who makes their chasing debut, last seen winning at Cartmel in April when making all. He went well on his seasonal debut last season and if taking to fences, this unexposed seven-year-old should be a key player.

4 AGAMEMMON – Only four runs over timber for Tom George, last seen finishing a disappointing fourth at Uttoxeter in April. Clearly will make up to be a better chaser as a point winner and better ground is ideal, so he’s one to note for leading connections on chasing debut.

5 SOUTHPORT – Inconsistent over hurdles for Nigel Twiston-Davies, proving frustrating despite having excuses on his latest start. Others look far better handicapped at present and, although he goes well fresh, others are readily preferred.

6 AS YOU LIKE – Won four starts ago at Warwick on handicap debut, however his form has tailed off on three runs since for Jonjo O’Neill. He’s on a workable mark, but he’s facing some stiff opposition here and others are preferred on balance.

7 MERIBEL MILLIE – Came alive in handicaps for Neil Mulholland, winning once before a narrow defeat one week later. She’s unexposed, but her overall profile does raise questions and she needs to prove her fitness here. Likely to come up short against some interesting types.

8 MIDNIGHT GEM – One win from 19 starts for Charlie Longsdon, falling on her chasing debut back in May after a fair display up to that point. She isn’t handicapped out of things and won on seasonal debut last season, but her overall profile leads us to believe she’ll find at least a few of these too good.
