3.40pm Yarmouth Tips & Betting Preview 16/10/2017

3.40pm Yarmouth tips for Monday’s Class 6 race. A shade under a mile and a half the trip in front of the field, including the EPDS/myracing.com syndicate horse, Lady Volante. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: LADY VOLANTE looks to have a solid chance of getting her head in front with plenty in her favour. She wasn’t stopping at the end of a mile and a quarter at Redcar last time so the step up in trip should suit. She returns to quicker ground on which she has performed her best this season, so she can break her duck. Hint Of Grey looks her biggest danger, placed from this mark over course and distance earlier in the season, she is well treated on her hurdling form. Bizet and Sexy Secret are just 3/83 between them but they both have frame claims if they are able to produce their best.

1 SIMPLY CLEVER – A winner just once in nineteen starts, that came from this mark over a mile. She is yet to prove her stamina for this far but has run with credit over ten furlongs. Arguably better on sand but the ground holds no fears on this return to turf.

2 THE LOCK MASTER – Better on artificial surfaces, but the veteran has proved his adaptability on varying turf conditions. His five turf wins have all come from higher, however back from a break this may be just a prep for the upcoming winter season.

3 HINT OF GREY – Smart form over hurdles earlier in the year, she was placed over this course and distance from the same mark in May. Has won fresh so the absence since June isn’t a concern, each way chance on ground she handles.

4 SAGA SPRINT – Sunk like a stone since arriving in this country, she sports a first time visor now. Her sole win in Ireland came on good to firm ground so the return to this surface from a lowly mark is a hope for supporters to cling to, but she needs far more.

5 CHAUVELIN – Not easy to win with, his pair of 2016 successes came over a full twelve furlongs on tracks with an uphill finish. Quick ground is perfect for him, but he may need them to go hard in front to bring his stamina into play late on.

6 ANNOUSHKA – Has shown a smattering of ability in limited action, she is fitted with a first time visor on this occasion. Her two worst career runs have both come at this track which has to be of concern, she is best watched.

7 SEXY SECRET – Just 3/59 overall but one of those wins came over this course and distance from seven pounds higher. Has run respectably here on more than one occasion this season, without shaping like an imminent winner. Not completely dismissed but needs to up his game.

8 HELLOMOTO – Best performance of the season came first time up when fitted with cheekpieces. The effect of the headgear appears to have worn off now, with little in his pedigree to suggest the step up in trip will show him in a better light.

9 LADY VOLANTE – Has shown enough to suggest she can pick up races at this level. A little bit of trouble early in the straight cost her fourth at Redcar last time where she wasn’t stopping over ten furlongs. Back on quicker ground is fine and worth a try at the trip from a good mark.

10 BIZET – Twenty-four race maiden went close in a similarly low level contest at Brighton in August. He has shown little since and although he can’t be supported for win purposes, he has the ability to sneak the frame if on a going day.

11 MUNGO MADNESS – Shown little so far, his best run coming on the Fibresand in August. Hasn’t cashed in on similar opportunities on turf so far, it’s tough to argue that he should do so now.

12 FOUR KINGDOMS – Runner-up in a Leicester seller last week was a career best. That was also on the softest ground he has encountered so although the bare form gives him an each way chance, the quicker ground remains a doubt until he proves otherwise.
