4.30pm Worcester Tips & Betting Preview 12/10/2017

A Class 4 staying novices’ hurdle which has attracted some big yards. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARYKINGS RYDE won with the minimum of fuss on hurdling debut and can go in again under a penalty. Mon Palois also shoulders a penalty and may not quite have the potential of Nicky Henderson’s runner.

1 KINGS RYDE – Was noticeably short in the market when third behind a stablemate on rules debut back in June. He was then sent off odds-on for his hurdling bow and made no mistake bolting up by 19 lengths. Needs respecting for the all-conquering Nicky Henderson.

2 MON PALOIS – Won a point-to-point before transferring to the Kim Bailey yard and has been running as if a step up in trip is exactly what he needs. He managed to win over shorter distances regardless, so he is clearly talented and a player here.

3 ONE FORTY SEVEN – Won a point-to-point before running in four hurdles races last year and being beaten each time. He has retained his novice status, however, and has a bit of an experience advantage over these, he will need to step up though as this looks like a decent race.

4 PISTOL SHOOT – 0-5 in point-to-points before switched to hurdles. He was beaten on his debut, but picked up a first career win at Stratford over two miles. Now stepped up back to a seven furlong longer trip he has something to prove, but isn’t ruled out.

5 RESILIENCY – Slightly out of form on the flat before switching to hurdles, however he was still a fair performer in that sphere. He was beaten a long way on hurdles debut, but that experience will have done him good and he is in good hands. Considered.

6 THE OGLE GOGLE MAN – Won a point-to-point at the fifth time of asking and makes his hurdles debut here. A bit of an unknown quantity, but he takes on some decent looking opposition here and would have to be decidedly useful to be winning this.

7 TRUCKERS TRANGLE – Beaten a long way in all his starts over hurdles to date and would have to show major improvement to be involved in any way here. Others are readily preferred.
