2.25pm Pontefract tips for Monday’s Class 4 race. The six furlong Nursery has many intriguing runners with only three runs under their belts. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Rastacap has run well in her first three runs and this tough front-running filly is unlikely to be far away on Nursery debut; preference, however, is for CAMACHO CHIEF. He loves softer ground and was far from disgraced on his latest start in a very competitive Sales Race at the Curragh in September. His current mark of 84 looks lenient as he finished a close third off it two starts ago and he can take a third career victory.

1 CAMACHO CHIEF – Placed off today’s mark two starts ago when only two lengths down at Hamilton last month and he went close on his latest start in a hugely competitive Sales Race at the Curragh. He loves soft ground and will be very tough to beat off a mark he’s clearly able to overcome.

2 RASTACAP – Game front-running filly for Mark Johnston who won at Newcastle two starts ago before finding only one too good at Ripon when last seen. She acts on softer ground and isn’t harshly treated on handicap debut, so is one to consider.

3 FEEBS – Huge amount of improvement in softer ground on his latest start when winning at Haydock in September, making his handicap debut off a mark of 75. He remains unexposed and won’t be far away under seven pound claimer Harrison Shaw.

4 BIG LES – Three moderate runs in novice/maiden company for Karen McLintock, not beaten far by a useful type on his latest start. A mark of 73 isn’t harsh on the best of his form, yet softer ground is a big question mark for him.

5 DANEHILL DESERT – Creditable third on his latest start at Beverley, although that was a claiming race and this is likely to be much tougher. Six furlongs isn’t sure to be his optimum trip despite his pedigree and it’s best to look elsewhere.

6 FINNION FOX – Well held on three runs in maiden/novice company thus far for Tim Easterby, finishing all but tailed off at Chester on his latest start. Plenty to prove on handicap debut and he’s best watched.
