3.50pm Bangor Tips and Betting Preview 04/10/2017

3.50pm Bangor tips for Wednesday’s Class 4 race. Another chase is up next on the Bangor card, with the three mile trip the next port of call. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Abbotswood makes his chasing debut for the red-hot Charlie Longsdon team and has to be respected as he has plenty of scope to succeed in this sphere. That said, he’ll struggle to get ahead of CUIRASSIER DEMPIRE who is a dual point winner who gained his first chasing success at the third attempt when winning at Worcester in August. He won in comfortable fashion and remains unexposed in this sphere. He’s an exciting chaser for the season and should brush off a nine pound rise to take back-to-back victories.

1 COMPADRE – Fell on chasing debut at Huntingdon when leading at two out and he’s performed well in two runs since, only going down by a length at Uttoxeter when last seen. He’s four pounds higher, but a repeat of that performance will see him going close.

2 CUIRASSIER DEMPIRE – Dual point winner who gained his first rules win with a comfortable success on his third chasing start at Chester. That was a good quality race and, despite a nine pound rise, he looks very tough to beat, especially as he’s still unexposed over fences for a top yard.

3 ABBOTSWOOD – Won a point-to-point back in March 2016 and he hasn’t hung around over timber, winning a race at Warwick on his third start. That was 2m 5f and he’ll be happier up in distance, with potential to make a much better chaser. Connections are in incredible form and he’s a leading player.

4 VINNIE LEWIS – Dual point-to-point winner for Harry Whittington who was progressive over timber, not beaten far at Huntingdon in January. He has more on his plate here, but he should do better over timber upped in trip, so he’s an each way player.

5 KAYLA – Rated 117 over hurdles and faced a very stiff task when third on chasing debut at Uttoxeter, merely passing beaten opponents late on. Needs to improve to take this and he should play second fiddle to better horses once again.

6 ANTEROS – Four wins over hurdles for Sophie Leech and, although he’s run well at times over fences, he’s a six race maiden in this discipline. He was beaten 14 lengths at Cartmel when last seen and looks vulnerable against horses with more potential than him.

7 RED GIANT – Arrives here on the back of a win at Kelso in September, although he id have two horses who don’t win very often in behind. He’s eight pounds higher than his latest start which makes this tougher in a stronger grade and he’s likely to be found out here.

8 KILRONAN CASTLE – Dual winner over timber for Donald McCain, however he’s yet to threaten in this discipline despite placing on three occasions. He was 13 lengths behind a runaway winner at Catterick when last seen after proving a tricky ride and he needs to raise his game massively.
