2.20pm Plumpton Tips & Betting Preview 24/09/2017

2.20pm Plumpton tips for Sunday’s Class Three handicap hurdle. A small but select field line-up looking for the £5393 first prize, and with just five runners it could well get tactical. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Alan King’s LORD HUNTINGDON caught the eye last time out with a clever victory and seems likely to go on from that to win this before moving slowly up in class to better and more valuable events over the months ahead. Comanche Chieftain may well be the one to follow the selection home.

1 COMANCHE CHIEFTAIN – A maiden on the flat but far better over hurdles with three wins and four places from just the seven starts. He finished second here on his first start for Neil King so has course experience and was a solid third to Dear Sire in a better contest last time out and dropped two pounds now he has to have a decent enough chance.

2 LORD HUNTINGDON – Up six pounds for a comfortable and pretty impressive win at Bangor and looks the sort to improve again to take a hand again here. The Alan King stable are in good heart with a 25% strike rate so he is hard to look past and he could yet go on from here to bigger and better things with more experience.

3 FREE STONE HILL – His decent run of form included two wins at Exeter and Stratford in April and May plus some solid placed efforts since but his third at Newton Abbot last time out was a bit below expectations. Regularly well backed and a beaten favourite in his last four starts, he has only been dropped a pound and needs to do a little better now in this field.

4 REGULATION – Four wins from twenty-four starts over hurdles, the latest back in October 2015 at Wincanton off six pounds higher than he carries today. Lizzie Kelly takes three pounds off and he is very well handicapped at his best but would be a big risk to suggest he can come back to form today.

5 EAST INDIES – Trainer Gary Moore does well here so this four-year-old cannot be ruled out, and he does have a C&D win to his name from this very card last season when he took the Juvenile Hurdle. No wins since but back at the scene of his greatest moment over hurdles and not easily ruled out.
