7.10pm Yarmouth Tips & Betting Preview 22/08/2017

Just the seven runners here, but an intriguing line-up that should see a competitive race over the seven furlong trip. Only 5lbs separate them according to official ratings, so we should be in for a tight finish. Read on for our full race preview and selection for the 7.10pm at Yarmouth tonight.

IN SUMMARY: MULTICULTURAL looks the one to be on here. She was so impressive last time that a penalty seems unlikely to stop her if she is in the same mood and the added headgear has the same effect second time around. Warsaw Road could be interesting and may even be the one for the forecast.

1 DUBAI’S SECRET – A first-time visor is added to the four-year-old this evening by trainer David Brown and it will be interesting to see if it has the desired effect. His recent form has been a bit unsteady, with a 7 3/4 length sixth over the Sandown mile last time. Although he was dropped 3lbs for that, he needs to do better here. Stable are zero from nine in the last two weeks and others make much more appeal.

2 OUTER SPACE – Five wins from 48 starts, the latest at Chelmsford on the All Weather in February. He’s clearly better on the artificial surfaces than grass so far, but he goes off a far lower rating here and may well be able to run into the first three home. The Jamie Osborne stable are performing well, with a 27% strike rate and a 27.10 level stakes profit. Not easily dismissed.

3 FIELDSMAN – Ran his best race since moving from George Scott to David O’Meara last time out when a neck second to stable companion Hajjam at Redcar. Up 2lbs for that and will win races for his astute yard, however he may have to settle for a place this evening. 11 winners from 77 runners in the last fortnight see the yard back to form and he won’t be far away here.

4 ROARING FORTIES – After two wins for Charlie Appleby the son of Invincible Spirit moved to Rebecca Bastiman. He hasn’t won since in five starts for his new connections, although he did run his best race yet last time out when 1 1/4 lengths second at Musselburgh over this trip. Up 1lb for that, he needs to offer a little more but should still run a respectable race.

5 MULTICULTURAL – Penalised for winning with any amount in hand over course and distance five days ago, if she is none the worse for those efforts then this looks hers for the taking. The James Tate stable are in great form, with five winners from their last 16 runners (31%) and a profit of over nine points. If the blinkers have the same effect a second time, she is the one to watch this evening.

6 ANFAASS – Ran his best race for a while when third over six furlongs but hasn’t run as well as that over this trip and may be a sprinter in disguise. A son of Vale Of York, he is certainly bred to be better over this or further and could be a surprise package today. That said, trainer George Margarson is having a quiet time with just the one winner in the last two weeks.

7 WARSAW ROAD – Bottom weight for Luca Cumani’s lightly raced three-year-old who has won once out of his four starts on quick going at Lingfield to win his maiden. Last time out at Leicester he pulled far too hard to have any chance before fading into eighth, beaten six lengths at the line. He will need to be trained to relax more to win another race. He does have more room to improve than most and is certainly of some interest for a yard going well again. George Wood is good value for his 3lb claim so he won’t be far away today.
