8:00pm Dundalk tips for the Group 3 race over ten and a half furlongs, this looks to be a very competitive race. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.
IN SUMMARY: WAR DECREE (2/1) was one of the top juveniles last year and should take all the beating if fit following a very good fifth in the French Derby. Abingdon should give him something to think about, but this colt could be a class apart from these rivals coming off a break.
1 DE CORONADO – Far from a stable star at Coolmore and will need to improve markedly from his handicap win off 84 at this track last time. Hard to give him a chance on form, especially as he races off joint top weight.
2 ELUSIVE HEIGHTS – A useful horse whose second to Brendan Brackan in a Listed race probably represents his best form. That said, he is off top weight in these conditions and remains 12lbs lower in the ratings than the likes of War Decree. An unlikely winner.
3 LONG ISLAND SOUND – Last year’s winner who has run just once this year when well beaten in the Dubai Turf. Clearly a tricky customer as he is very lightly raced, but his trainer is a master of getting them fit and would be bang there if at his best. Cannot be ruled out but is risky.
4 TENNESSEE WILDCAT – Ran a decent race when beaten just under five lengths by Moonlight Magic in the Meld Stakes last time out and this is probably easier. However, he will need to find improvement from somewhere and he doesn’t look like the most obvious winner.
5 ABINGDON – Absolutely bolted up on her seasonal reappearance by ten lengths and has run with credit since, especially when beaten less than two lengths by the very classy Bateel. Outclassed in the Yorkshire Oaks behind Enable when last seen, but will find this much easier and she must have a huge shout.
6 ABSOLUTE BLAST – Has enjoyed a good season for the in-form Archie Watson, including winning the Magnolia Stakes at Kempton. That said, she has come up slightly short when upped in class and has a few pounds to find on ratings with the likes of Abingdon and War Decree.
7 SANTA MONICA – Has been beaten fair distances in each attempt at group level and is hard to recommend overall. She will need a career best by some distance to get involved here.
8 SIGNE – Won her first three races before stepping up in class and soundly beaten by the re-opposing Abingdon. She then switched to Jessie Harrington from William Haggas but showed no marked improvement when again well beaten. Has a lot to prove at this level.
9 WAR DECREE – Enjoyed a brilliant juvenile season when winning the Vintage Stakes from subsequent Group 1 winner Thunder Snow. He was then disappointing on his reappearance, but seemed to bounce back to form when beaten under three lengths in the French Derby. The one to beat on form getting weight all around.
10 ANEEN – Lightly raced and therefore open to improvement, but will need to find plenty to figure here. Has been beaten by some very good horses and has always been well regarded, but she will need to live up to all of her potential to get close to the best of these.
11 DILMUN – Beaten by the likes of Rain Goddess twice in her short career but is rated just 88. She will need to be a completely different horse to what she has shown so far to get involved here.
