The last race of the day in the UK for our race preview to consider, and our second of two race previews for Yarmouth on this Wednesday evening. Our betting tip has been running well without winning since debut but we think she can go one better than last time out today.
In Summary: Langham put in a career best performance last time out when 3rd at Kempton on the All Weather and has promising apprentice Josephine Gordon booked but has yet to show any form on turf and probably wants further. Justice Rock continues to plunge in the weights but was well beaten yet again last time out but our money goes on JUSTICE LADY, who was a good second last time out and should win this if steeling a little better than last time out.
1 Lady Nayef – John Butler tries a first time visor following a decent run at Nottingham on soft ground last time out. Seems versatile ground wise and was up to 78 in the handicap after her only win (back down to 69 here) but likely to find it all happening a little too fast over this minimum trip.
2 Langham – Opening mark of 68 seems based off debut second on the All Weather at Kempton when she beat Gorgeous Geezer (now rated 71 but was giving 2lb) and ran well back over 6 furlongs at Kempton three weeks ago. Was a well beaten 8th in a Class 5 Goodwood maiden on her only start on the turf and is related to a decent horse in Three Gracez but not confident the step back in trip will suit.
3 Archimedes – Another sporting a first time visor, handicapper has been lenient following 5 largely heavy defeats and has dropped from an opening mark of 81 to just 68 today. Was a 240,000 guineas purchase in September 2014 by these owners but has been short in the market for last two starts and still failed to run well. If bouncing back to best 2 year old form would be well handicapped but hasn’t shown enough to be backable at these odds.
4 Cherry Kool – A winner on her second start on the All Weather, has yet to finish better than 5th on the turf in four runs (beaten 15 lengths that day) and does seem a far better horse on the All Weather. Runs off a turf mark that’s 8lb lower than her AW mark so if she could transfer her form here would have a good chance and was given a chance in the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes so connections obviously expect more. One to keep an eye on at a big price.
5 Justice Lady – Our betting tip for the race, won on debut from a far more experienced horse in Hot Stuff when strong in the market. Has been sent off a biggest price of 9/2 on her four starts since (3 times a beaten favourite) but was beaten by an in form horse last time out (had won at Hamilton by 7 lengths nine days before) and this race promises to be easier. Excellent chance to record a second win.
6 Jack The Laird – Looks likely to be sent off second favourite following a good run in a large field Class 6 event at Bath last time out when runner up to a big price (that just 7 days ago). Was also second on the All Weather on penultimate start so clearly in good form and Paul Hanagan an eye catching booking but found things happening too quickly last time out when slowly away which would kill his chances today.
7 Showbizzy – Non Runner
