7.45pm Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview 24/06/2016

IN SUMMARY: Not many can be ruled out of this Listed event but the most interesting runner by some way is NEZWAAH (7/2), who was placed in Listed company on turf on only her third career start and, having started her career with two AW wins, might be capable of better now back on an artificial surface. Intimation needs to improve to get competitive at this level but she’s another lightly raced contender from a powerful Newmarket stable and there’s every chance she has more to offer. Oakley Girl looked very progressive during the last AW season and ran about as well as could have been expected when fourth in a turf Group 3 on her latest outing. More Mischief was nicely clear of the others when chasing home a rapidly improving rival at Ayr on her latest outing and she completes the shortlist.

1 Chain Of Daisies – Latest of four wins in 2015 was gained in Listed company, at Newmarket (1m2f, good to soft); open to further progress this year but carries a penalty here, needs to bounce back from a very disappointing reappearance run and prove she’s fully effective on an artificial surface.

2 Imshivalla – Produced new career-best performance to cause 25/1 surprise in valuable handicap at Epsom (1m2f, good to soft) on Oaks day, her 37th start; evidently in very good nick but still has a bit to find on the figure with some of these and finished last on sole previous AW run (on Polytrack).

3 Intimation – Created good impression when comfortable winner of Leicester handicap (1m2f, good to soft) last summer, her third start; not see again until finishing seventh in valuable Newmarket handicap (1m1f, good to soft) in April but was only beaten about 3l that day having met traffic; no surprise if she displays the necessary improvement now upped to Listed company.

4 More Mischief – Won big-field Doncaster handicap on seasonal debut in April and has reached the frame in Listed company on both subsequent outings, more recently when clear second to a progressive rival at Ayr (1m2f, good to soft) last month; in the mix if running to a similar level on today’ AW debut.

5 Oakley Girl – 3-5 on the AW, including a 6l handicap win on Tapeta in January; will also be suited by today’s trip and returns to this surface after a very respectable fourth in Group 3 event at Epsom (8.5f, good to soft) on Derby Day; might still be improving and is one to consider.

6 Rosental – Won in France last year and went close in Class 3 Beverley handicap (1m2f, good to firm) on last month’s British debut; will need to better that form to pose a significant threat here but still has low mileage.

7 Sound Of Freedom – Listed/Group 3 winner in Italy in April 2015 and went close in Group 1 event there (1m2f, soft) in October; not seen to the same effect on either of her British starts this season but may have found good to firm ground too lively in Listed event at Nottingham on more recent occasion.

8 Tears Of The Sun – Form of her small-field Brighton handicap win (1m2f, good to firm) in April is nothing to get too excited about but she gave a very good account when close second in Listed company at Nottingham (1m2f, good) this month and won’t be far away if matching that level of form here.

9 Nezwaah – Lightly raced 3yo who began career with two convincing AW wins (one on Tapeta) in early 2016 (1m/8.6f); chucked into Listed company for last month’s turf debut at Newbury (1m2f, good to soft) but acquitted herself well and finished third; very much of interest now back on this surface.

10 Sagely – On her maiden on Tapeta at Wolverhampton (8.6f) in March and comfortably followed up on handicap debut at Ripon (1m2f, good to firm) in May; found one too when warm favourite to defy a penalty at York a few days later but retains the potential to make her mark at this level at some stage.

11 Secret Sense – Half-sister to stable’s Oaks runner-up Secret Gesture; didn’t need to improve to win run-of-the-mill maiden at Chelmsford (1m2f, AW) in April, her fourth start; pedigree suggests she has plenty of potential, but she was beaten off a mark of 78 on last month’s handicap debut and needs to progress quickly to land a blow in this.

myracing Forecast Prices: 11/4 Intimation, 4/1 Nezwaah, 6/1 More Mischief, Sound Of Freedom, 7/1 Tears Of The Sun, 10/1 Oakley Girl, 12/1 Sagely, 14/1 Chain Of Daisies, Rosental, 16/1 Imshivalla, 20/1 Secret Sense
