6.10pm Punchestown Tips & Betting Preview 29/04/2017

Half brother to seven winners including Learning The Blues, Change Partner and Georgia On My Mind, SINNERMAN certainly has it all there on paper for Paul Nolan and 3lb claimer Steven Clements. A pedigree mixed with speed and stamina, the five year old by Beat All should know his job on debut and if getting a nice passage through he may well be a good price to exploit in this race. Bought for 17,000 euros, he can make his presence felt and if living up to his pedigree first time up, he will represent a huge amount of value.

The pedigree of Vocarium is very interesting as the four year old by Poet’s Voice is a half brother to Veracity, who was a Group 3 winner on the flat and stayed 2m 2f. Related to some other smart middle distance runners on the flat, his stamina shouldn’t be of too much concern and he certain has the speed to get competitive in a bumper that may turn tactical. The jockey booking of Katie Walsh is an eyecatcher and she’ll be giving him the best possible ride so in a race full of unknowns, he should go close.

Although he’ll probably need further in time, The Shearers Wife needs very close attention considering he’s from the stable of Gordon Elliott with a certain JJ Codd taking the ride. By Beneficial and related to some useful middle distance types, he should come into his own over fences at the longer trips but for now this looks a good test for the four year old. Related also to a bumper winner, speed should not be any problem and going by his pedigree, stamina shouldn’t be either. He should make his presence felt but as with any bumper, market support should be noted.

Thomas Mullins runs Sparky Stowaway whose unsurprisingly by Stowaway, with the dam a bumper and 2m 4f hurdle winner who also placed over fences. He certainly makes some appeal on paper and the jockey booking of Patrick Mullins does draw the eye to this five year old. Market support should be noted but just from his pedigree he deserves a second look and he should go well.

Others to note in the race are Simon’s Castle for AJ McNamara who makes some appeal on pedigree and should have the speed as he’s related to a bumper winner, with Dark Du Tabert perhaps another at bigger prices to consider with a nice enough French pedigree.
