5.55pm Kempton Tips & Betting Preview 30/11/2016

Not much pace on but plenty of unknowns in this Maiden Fillies Stakes with £3,234 on offer to the winner. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: Mitigate has a smart pedigree and her yard can get one ready first time out. She will have to be special however to beat ASHWAQ who was a good third on debut and with that run behind her she can get her head in front today. Ghaseedah also looks interesting on paper and can chase them home in front of Sun Angel, who could get involved if recapturing her best form.

1 Ashwaq – Sepoy Filly and decent looking sort. Third of 13 in a Maiden at Newmarket on debut 32 days ago over 7f. Likely to improve and should be tough to beat for a yard in good form.

2 Cherry Leyf – Kheleyf filly and Sister to 5f winner Cherry Kool and half-sister to 3 other winners, including 5f/6f winner The Strig and 5f winner Oh So Kool. Dam was also a 5f/6f winner and best watched on debut unless market speaks in her favour.

3 Chough – Twice-raced filly by Dutch Art. Eleventh of 13 in a Maiden at Southwell 20 days ago over 7f. Slowly away on both starts and cannot afford to do that here with some speedy types all around.

4 Ghaseedah Kyllachy Filly Cost 23,000 gns as a yearling and 210,000 gns as a 2-y-o. Dam was a 6f/7f winner, half-sister to decent sort at 1¼m-1½m Connecticut. One to note in the market for yard that does well here.

5 Ginger Truffle – Only fifth of 11 in nursery at Chelmsford City over 5f 39 days ago. Looks to be up against it back in a Maiden after flopping in Nurseries.

6 Mitigate – Lawman Filly who cost 90,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to several winners, including smart 5.5f/6f winner Sabratah and classy 7f-1¼m winner Raw Impulse. Dam was also a 6f-1m winner and market vibes would be positive.

7 Pavillon – Showcasing filly who is a Half-sister to 2-y-o 6f winner Dutch S. Dam and a half-sister to classy 7f-10.4f winner Middlemarch. Interesting pedigree and another to watch in the betting but likely to come on for run.

8 Porto Ferro – Looked below form when only fourth of 8 in a Maiden at Navan 42 days ago over 5f. First run for this yard after leaving Johnny Murtagh and hard to fancy on debut here.

9 Sayem – Sayif Filly. Dam was un-raced and by useful 5f-6f winner Ripples Maid. Hard to know what to expect on debut and best watched for now.

10 Sugar Plum – Dandy Man Filly who cost €5,000 as a yearling. Related to 2-y-o 1m winner Running Wolf. Dam was a maiden and half-sister to useful winner up to 7f Perfect Symmetry. Yard can ready one first time out but pedigree is unappealing and can be overlooked in this.

11 Sun Angel – Sir Prancealot Filly who was fifth of 8 in a Maiden at Haydock 68 days ago over 6f. Disappointed the time before that at Chelmsford too but solid chance on her best run at Windsor in August and can be in the shake-up if anywhere near that run.

12 Wotadoll – Harbour Watch Filly who has had 2 runs so far. Only ninth of 13 in a Maiden at Wolverhampton 18 days ago over 6f and hampered that day. Likely to be taken on for the lead again here and can be ruled out with confidence.
