5.55pm Chelmsford Tips & Betting Preview 24/11/2016

An interesting little race for the grade with some promising individuals on show for this £3,881 contest. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: The Marco Botti pair Do You Know and Eugenie Feather are interesting, particularly the latter given she is related to several winners and has Luke Morris on board who is an excellent pilot for the track. She will give it a good go on debut but will no doubt find FEROCITY too good today. He ran well to finish 5th on debut for Robyn Brisland last month and granted normal improvement, can get his head in front today under Martin Harley who is splendid form at the moment. Power Home is also worthy of a mention and she can follow them home.

1 Astute Boy – 1 race in so far in his career finishing 6th of 8 at Newmarket 27 days ago. Slowly away that day he will need to show massive improvement to trouble these even if that race was a better standard than this. Big ask.

2 Solent Meads – Ran well in 2 AW Maiden’s so far, coming 3rd last time at Newcastle 27 days ago, seeing it out well. Could get involved here if improving further for that but others preferred today.

3 Pleasure Requested – 13th of 14 on debut, well off the pace and finishing behind a fancied one from the Hannon yard. Draw wasn’t favourable on that occasion and ran green, doubt he will be able to make in-roads in this.

4 Ferocity – Poet’s Voice colt with only one run for Robyn Brisland so far, finishing 5th of 10 in that race at Goodwood 46 days ago. Only 4 lengths off the pace that day and it was eye-catching run. Will improve upped in trip today and big player.

5 The Last Debutante – Slow start may have cost her on debut last week at Kempton and she hardly sluiced through the field once she got going. Market best-watched but form of that run is off-putting in this line-up.

6 Sadhbh – Found trouble in running when finishing 6th of 13 in a Maiden at Wolverhampton 12 days ago. Up in trip today and hard to fancy given there will be plenty of pace on and she may just get found out in this.

7 Do You Know – One race so far for this yard, coming 7th of 12 in a Maiden here 2 weeks ago. Yard also runs Eugenie Feather and she looks the more interesting of the Botti pair.

8 Power Home – 3 races this year for Denis Coakley, finishing 454 on the AW. Pleasing 4th at Kempton at the start of the month off a 50-day break and upped in trip today looks to have sound place claims under Josephine Gordon.

9 Eugenie Feather – Didn’t cost much as a yearling or 2-y-o, this Brilliant Sister Filly is however a half-sister to several winners including Si Foo who was a winner up to 7f. Dam was a 1m winner so plenty of speed in her pedigree. Interesting on debut for Marco Botti and Luke Morris on board so positive market vibes will need close attention.

10 Miss Osier – Wasn’t knocked about on debut 26 days ago, finishing 12th of 13. Will need to have come on a lot for that to get involved here.

11 Angel In Disguise – 16/1 on debut at Newmarket last month and didn’t show much in that race to suggest she can play a part here.
