5.45pm Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview 25/11/2016

An interesting little Nursery with plenty of speed horses on show competing for the £2,588 first prize. Expect them to go at a furious pace for this 5f contest. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: Prancelina can be forgiven her last run and can get into this if getting the breaks as can Abundant George whose yard have a good record with their 2-y-o runners here this year. Jorvik Prince will be fancied to follow up after his win last time at Chelmsford but he is taken on with MISS MAYSON, who found the draw and hold-up nature of that race against her that time and if getting into a good position form Stall 5 today, can get her nose in front.

1 Abundant George – 4 runs so far for this yard and finished a decent 3rd at Lingfield 14 days ago given every chance in the race. Makes his Handicap debut today and yard like to have winners here, 2-4 with 2-y-o’s here so far this season. Solid place claims.

2 Snuggy – 5 runs so far for the yard has yielded a sole win at Leicester in August when getting up to win by 1¼ lengths. Poor show next time out, only managing 9th of 11 in a Nursery Handicap at Musselburgh and makes her Tapeta debut today. Half-sister to an AW Dundalk winner and dropped 3lb for this. Has a chance if taking to the surface but others have sounder claims. Best watched for now.

3 Flashing Light – Lightly-raced Maiden who made the most of her draw at Beverley last time to finish 5 lengths 2nd behind a decent sort from the Gaye Kelleway yard. Sound progress so far but will need a career- best making her Handicap debut today and should find one too good again.

4 Prancelina – Scored on her 4th attempt for Phil McEntee when getting up to win by a nose here in September. Finished plum last next time out in better company but this more her level and has a decent chance.

5 Oh So Dandy – Only 4 run so far and has been unconvincing so far in each. 10th of 12 at Nottingham last month. Cheek-pieces on today and trainer’s poor strike rate with 2-y-o’s (4-231 in the last 5 years) hardly bodes well for his chances. Easy to ignore today.

6 Miss Mayson – 8th of 11 in a Nursery at Chelmsford last month but had been running well prior to that. Didn’t get the run of that race having been forced to drop in and should get plenty of toe into the race if they go off at the predicted fast pace. Good draw to play with and is a big player in this line-up.

7 Debonaire David – Only 3 races so far for Richard Hughes. 7th of 8 when last seen at Salisbury 98 days ago. Makes his Handicap debut today and wears a tongue strap for the first time. Hard to fancy judged on that last run.

8 Jorvik Prince – Ran a career-best to win an 11 runner Nursery at Chelmsford 15 days ago when getting up to win by 2 lengths in a steady-run race. That was only his 5th start and makes his Tapeta debut today. Could be more to come and market vibes would be positive.

9 DazacamOnly 6 runs so far and was a decent 4th in a Nursery at Chelmsford last time out over 6f. Drop back down to 5f may spark further improvement but needs a career-best run to win this.

10 Little Nosegay – C&D winner here in August and has struggled in 5 runs since. Was a decent 4th behind the re-opposing Jorvik Prince at Chelmsford 15 days ago and didn’t get a clear run that day. Is better off with that one today but should struggle having been drawn in Stall 11.

11 Scotch Myst – 6 runs so far for the Fahey team and yet to win. 5th behind Jorvik Prince 15 days ago at Chelmsford and will find it tough to reverse placings with that one. Can be ignored today.
