5.05pm Nottingham Tips & Betting Preview 04/10/2017

5.05pm Nottingham tips for Wednesday’s Class 3 contest raced over 6f for three-year-olds and above. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: SYRIAN PEARL has been aimed at this race for the previous two years and she can win it again today. She’s 3lbs below the mark she won this off last year and she should be trained to the minute for this. Ventura Blues has hit some good form and can give her a run for her money, as can the resurgent Ninjago.

1 VENTURA BLUES – Won a Class 5 event over a mile at Kempton early last month and she then ran with credit again on the All-Weather to finish second in a Class 4 event. The drop in trip should be fine and she should go well off a fair mark.

2 CURIOUS FOX – Looks to be weighted up to her best now following a string of successes over the past year. She finished third of seven in a weaker event than this at Lingfield last time out and she may just be found out in this competitive race.

3 BAHAMIAN DOLLAR – Remains just a pound higher than his last winning mark which is surprising having acquitted himself well over his last three outings. John Egan takes over in the saddle today and he holds a strong chance off this mark.

4 OPERATIVE – Won over the minimum trip at Sandown last month and he’s been hiked in grade in search of a hat-trick of wins today. He has won over 6f previously, although a near career high mark may dent his chances of a third win on the bounce.

5 NINJAGO – Has found a second wind now aged seven with a victory and placed effort to his name on his last two starts. A mark of 80 remains fair and stall nine isn’t the worst draw in the world for this once classy individual. One to consider over a trip he relishes.

6 SYRIAN PEARL – Chris Wall has aimed this filly at this race in the past two years which has seen her win and finish second in the race respectively. She’s 3lbs below the mark she won it off last year and conditions should suit so there’s plenty to like.

8 MAID IN INDIA – Eric Alston’s Bated Breath filly makes just her fourth career start today in this big field handicap. She’s already a handicap winner off a mark of 65, however she’s 12lbs higher here and the Soft ground is a slight unknown.

9 QUATRIEME AMI – Was well-supported when winning a Class 5 handicap over the minimum trip last time out at Redcar. He races with a 6lb penalty today, but he’s still a long way below his career high mark and there could be more to come again.

10 TRICKY DICKY – Competitive handicapper, winning six of his 22 starts, including a Southwell handicap back in August. He’s only a pound higher here which does leave him on a career high mark, but conditions should suit and stall 15 is a positive draw.

11 MAJOR VALENTINE – Has been competitive for most of the summer with a host of placed efforts and a couple of wins. He never got into his race at Wolverhampton last time out and that casts doubt on him in this. Best watched.

12 SHOWMETHEWAYAVRILO – Another consistent sort this season with victories at Chepstow and Goodwood most recently. He races with a 6lb penalty today which will be tough to carry in this event and there may be better value elsewhere.

13 SPECIALV – Won a 6f event at Haydock on Good to Soft off a 4lb lower mark back in August, but she hasn’t run well recently. A visor is applied for the first time today and David Allan takes over in the saddle, yet others look better treated.

14 CASTERBRIDGE – Steadily dropping through the weights and he races off a career low mark for some time today. Neil Farley rides his stablemate which is a concern having partnered him for most of his races and that could be significant.

15 FANTASY KEEPER – Lightly raced Mayson colt with a course and distance victory to his name. He needs to do more here off a mark of 69 having struggled off a slightly higher rating and this is the toughest race he’s faced to date. Opposed.

16 SEAVIEW – David Brown’s filly has won once from 12 starts and she wears a visor for the first time today. She struggled in a Class 5 Seller last time out which is a major negative coming into this race and others are preferred.

17 YES YOU – Has recorded three victories this season over 6f, including twice on Good to Soft. He races off a high enough mark in this having struggled last time out, although the step back up in trip is a positive move. Others make more appeal though.
