5.05pm Beverley Tips & Betting Preview 12/07/2016

A tight betting heat for the 5.05pm Beverley. 7 declared for this hot handicap which boasts no less than 4 last time out winners. Our race preview picks out one that is bang in form and should get the race run to suit.

IN SUMMARY: Dutch Artist clearly has lots of potential and his last run was much better than it looks on paper, as he was badly short of room and he’s respected. However it could be worth siding with PLANETARIA. Although 3yos are 0-8 in this race in previous years, Garry Moss’ charge has been in top form, front running his way to 2 victories out of his last 3 runs. With no other real confirmed front runners in this race he could be allowed a soft lead and could easily make it 3 out of 4 for the ever improving gelding. A good run is also expected from Janaab.

1 Dutch Artist – His latest start over C&D (8.5f, Good to Firm) is much better than it looks, as he was short of room in the final furlong and had to be switched before only finishing roughly a length down. Seems to be progressing and is definitely shortlisted for the inform David O’Meara yard.

2 Final – Has been running well of late which was evidenced with a win at this track a few weeks ago (10f, Good). The start before that over C&D (8.5f, Good to Firm) was very unlucky and had a torrid time of it, being carried right before being switched and making good headway to then be badly hampered last 50 yards. Will be on the premises and can probably reverse form with Dutch Artist and Rocket Ronnie.

3 Rocket Ronnie – Generally consistent but very disappointing latest at Newmarket (8f, Soft). Returning to this venue and quicker ground may well suit him better but will struggle to keep form with Dutch Artist and Final back when he arguably had the best run of the three when coming from the back, can be there or thereabouts though.

4 Homeland – 4yo who hinted at a return to form somewhat when finishing midfield in Carlisle Handicap latest (8f, Good to Firm). If he was able to call upon his first two efforts of his career he could be heavily involved in this, however he has a lot to prove and cannot be backed with much confidence.

5 Billy Bond – Absolutely ran away at Southwell latest start (8f, AW), but has been off since that run 6 months ago. He is 13lb higher for that 13 length victory and all of his previous turf efforts have been well below the standard of his competitors for this. Has to be respected though from powerful Fahey yard on the basis of that previous run.

6 Janaab – This time of year always seems to bring the best out of him and he confirmed that when running on late to snatch a handicap at Haydock latest (7f, Soft). Is upped into Class 4 company but that doesn’t faze as he has performed well in this grade before and is versatile whatever the state of the ground on race day. Easterby’s yard is in top nick and Rachel Richardson is at the top her game lately, and this combination can make him go very close.

7 Planetaria – Front runner who is 2 out of 3 in his latest runs, most recently when making all at Hamilton (8f, Good to Soft). He has improved with every run and could easily be allowed a soft lead as no other runners are confirmed pace angles, and he would be extremely dangerous if given the luxury. Gary Moss is also inform and this improving gelding can make it 3 out of 4 upped in grade.

myracing Forecast Prices: 3/1 Final, 7/2 Dutch Artist, 4/1 Planetaria, 11/2 Janaab, 6/1 Rocket Ronnie, 6/1 Billy Bond, 25/1 Homeland
