4.40pm Bath Tips & Betting Preview 26/09/2016

Our race preview takes a look at a competitive looking Nursery at Bath where there are several potential improvers who could be banging at the door. See our betting tips below to find a filly who just keeps on improving and has been handed a nice looking opening Handicap Mark.

IN SUMMARY: Drop Kick Murphi showed great attitude when winning at Brighton latest and Broadhaven Honey also has a likeable attitude which was shown when making all at Beverley. However, INCENTIVE has improved with every run for Stuart Kittow and she has been handed a good mark for her nursery debut. Surely she can improve enough to hit the frame with natural progression.

1 DROP KICK MURPHI – Showed a great attitude to win at Brighton latest (5f, Good) when looking under pressure and not making much impression before running on to lead very late on. He should go well again in similar conditions today and is a previous C&D winner, so highly respected.

2 BROADHAVEN HONEY – Made all when beating two outsiders at Beverley latest (5f, Good to Firm) but showed a good attitude to respond to every single one of Graham Lee’s questions. Might not get the luxury of an easy lead today and needs to step up to win this, but enters calculations all same.

3 SPEED FRANK – 5 race maiden and already looking very frustrating. Beaten easily latest at Lingfield in a small field handicap (5f, Good to Firm) and doesn’t seem to be progressing like a Beckett filly might be expected too, so can’t really be relied on.

4 PRECIOUS PLUM – Won nicely on the All Weather at Wolverhampton (5f, AW) and wasn’t disgraced the time before over the same distance at Chelmsford. Has a 5lb rise and needs to prove shes as effective on the Turf, but she has the assistance of SDS which will be a big help.

5 FOXCATCHER – Latest run was a career best when 4th at Haydock at the start of the month over 6f. It was worrying though to see her hang under pressure for the final 2f and this initial mark isn’t a gift. Needs more.

6 INCENTIVE – Improving with every run for Stuart Kittow and her latest run at Goodwood when just fading late over 6f was a solid effort. Her opening handicap mark looks quite generous with her progressive profile thus far and if managing to notch up a bit extra for her 1 month break, she should be right there as they hit the line.

7 ROUNDABOUT MAGIC – Shows plenty of early dash in his races but seems to suffer at the end when weakening when the going gets tough. Behind Tullinahoo at Wolverhampton latest when fading very badly to drop from 1st to 6th with 100 yards to go, and he may well struggle again today.

8 TULLINAHOO – Good nursery debut on the All Weather at Wolverhampton when finishing a running on 4th. This step up in trip should suit and this current mark seems quite far, so has to enter calculations for the places.

9 LITTLE NOSEGAY – Has been completely out of her depths on her last few starts, latest when being comprehensively beaten in a hot looking race at the Curragh (6f, Yielding). Even being back into this company demands a career best on previous evidence, and is vulnerable to an improver.

10 FAIR SELENE – Wasn’t completely disgraced when 5th on Nursery debut at Salisbury over 7f, but on the evidence of that race she could want even further as she was staying on towards the line. Drop back in trips perhaps not ideal, and needs more to play a role in this.
