IN SUMMARY: Miami Present has to prove himself on the ground but he’s been going the right way and won’t be far away on his hat-trick bid under Aidan Coleman. DERRINTOGHER BLESS ran his best race on his seasonal debut and is clearly one to catch fresh, currently well handicapped on the best of his form. Mikey Hamill takes off five pounds and after 243 days off, he can return to winning ways for Kim Bailey.
DERRINTOGHER BLISS – Placed off this mark on his seasonal reappearance last year, he didn’t go on from there. He was runner-up the year before that as well on his return so fresh will be the time to catch him with conditions to suit. Is the one they all have to catch.
BROWNVILLE – Both chasing wins have come at this track, with a close second and a fourth in a pair of other visits. Begins his season on a career high mark, a level he struggled from over fences so no more than an each way squeak.
MIAMI PRESENT – Arrives on a career high mark but on the hunt for a hat-trick. His two wins already this season are career best form so he may still possess the progression needed to defy this mark but genuinely soft ground is a worry.
AUDACIOUS PLAN – Thirteen pounds lower than his starting position last season, he has joined Dr Richard Newland. His yard are renowned for improving cast offs so he needs plenty of respect with conditions ideal from a very workable mark.
A TAIL OF INTRIGUE – Another starting out for a new yard, he regressed last season for Nicky Henderson. A chance can be given at the weights but most of his stronger form has come on better ground.
POWERFUL SYMBOL – The softer the better for him but his season was blighted with jumping mistakes last time around. He smacks of a horse well capable of defying this mark but he can only be watched until he has shown he has learnt his craft.
LUNAR FLOW – This trip on soft ground is perfect, winning at this track back in February. Both his previous wins have come from a mark of 90 so he has a little to prove off 102 despite conditions to suit.
PRESENTED – Thrown in on his old form, a sharp three miles on soft ground are his ideal conditions. Has run respectably the last twice and could sneak a place in the frame if able to up his game a little more.
