Nine horses’ go to post for this claiming stakes at Wolverhampton worth £3,336 to the winner. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: Poetic Force should go well off top weight and this is a race that won’t take that much winning. He won in this grade well last month and should go well but he may find he is outgunned by one if not both of the David Evans runners. Bazwind is also a winner having scored at Lingfield two starts ago and can bounce back from a lacklustre run last time out but he may be passed on this occasion by stablemate MADAM PRANCEALOT, who was a two-time winner earlier in the Summer and having contested better races recently can get back to winning ways dropped to this grade.

Poetic Force – Has won over C&D and after four moderate runs improved to score by 1¾ lengths last month in a class 6. Upped in grade and only fifth last time out he remains at that level here and should go well off top weight and waited with this time. Player.

Life Won’t Wait – Seventh on debut in a Newcastle maiden 17 days ago. Didn’t see out the 7f that day and went off quickly behind the leader. Waiting tactics may fare better here and over the longer trip, he could be seen in a better light but up against some more reliable performers here.

Masquerade Bling – Nine runs so far and still a maiden. Good second on debut at Brighton over 5f in April but hasn’t really gone on since then. Only eighth of 12 last time out when well beaten and outpaced three-out. Up against it here for a yard not renowned for sending out winners at this track.

Bazwind – Won a Class 6 Selling event at Lingfield two starts ago over 1m, benefiting from tracking the pace and staying on strongly. Not so good last time out at this level at Southwell but raced wide and could bounce back here. Makes Tapeta debut and jockey in fine form on this surface recently. Yard also run Madame Prancealot.

Aventus – Still a maiden after eight starts and only fair form so far. Moved from Richard Hughes to Jane Chapple-Hyam and only Fifth of 10 at Chelmsford in a nursery 18 days ago on second start for the yard and that was probably his best run. Makes his Tapeta debut today and connections reach for blinkers. Hard to see him getting involved even on best form.

Madam Prancealot – Back-to-back winner of a couple of races in this grade earlier this Summer by short margins, the second coming at Chepstow (Good/Soft). Hasn’t fared so well in nurseries since but ran well to finish fourth of 8 on last start at Newcastle and may find the drop to claiming grade has the desire effect today. Looks to be a big player. Yard also run Bazwind.

Glenamoy – Kodiac filly previously trained in Ireland where only showed modest form in five starts. Last of 18 at Naas 82 days ago when something looked to go wrong and makes first start for Harry Dunlop and on Tapeta today. Wears a visor and best watched for now.

Penny Green – Four runs so far and patchy form at best. Eighth of 13 in a nursery at Kempton 26 days ago and up in trip. Wears blinkers for the first time and others look to have stronger form for win purposes.

Chiconomic – Nine runs and still a maiden. Only sixth of 8 in the race won by the re-opposing Bazwind 23 days ago, getting going far too late. Wears eye-shields today and unlikely to confirm placings with that one in this given he was outpaced that day and same fate awaits here.
