IN SUMMARYMOUNT MORIAH has been a revelation this season and can pick up his first win in a black type race having run very respectably at a higher level of late. There are a number of dangers such as the penalised Raheen House and consistent On To Victory.

RAHEEN HOUSE – Shoulders a penalty for an impressive Group 3 success, beating subsequent Doncaster Cup winner Desert Skyline in the process. Outclassed in the St Leger on his latest start, but he brings the best form to the table and must be respected despite his extra weight.

HOCHFELD – Struggled on softer ground either side of a decisive handicap win on good ground. On his recent form there is a definite question mark over whether he wants a sounder surface and he would need to improve nonetheless to have a shout of winning this.

MOUNT MORIAH – Ran an excellent race when third to Crystal Ocean at Glorious Goodwood and has gone from strength to strength this season. He comes out just about the best on these terms and must have a huge chance of getting seriously involved here.

ON TO VICTORY – The third highest rated horse in this field and demands respect given his liking for soft ground, which he showed when obliging readily last time out. He will need to improve slightly according to official ratings, but he has a solid chance on all known form.

WEEKENDER – A progressive colt who has been consistent throughout his career and looked like a further step up in trip would suit when a staying on second last time out. He doesn’t have the same level of form in the book as some of these, but this son of Frankel is open to plenty of progress and could find the necessary improvement.

ZENON – A mark of 96 leaves this one slightly shy of what you would think is going to be necessary to win this race. He was well outclassed when last tackling a listed race, however he is useful and no forlorn hope but a step up is required.
