3.40pm Southwell tips for Sunday’s Class 6 contest raced over 6f for four year-olds and older. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.
IN SUMMARY: This is a low-grade handicap and there could be plenty of value in ALL OR NOTHIN’S price. He ran well over C&D earlier in the year when he bumped into a well-handicapped rival and he returns here off a 3lb lower mark. Callum Shepherd is a positive booking and he gets the vote. Sarabi looks best of the rest having won on this surface previously.
1 SARABI – Has a fair few runs under her belt for a 4yo but she’s without a win since July of last year. She’s yet to win over 6f but she has a win at this track to her name which is a major positive and a mark of 57 could give her something to work with.
2 COISTE BODHAR – Has been out of form for a fair while now and he’s a full 10lbs below his last winning mark which came in November 2016. The step back up in trip is positive for this C&D winner but he needs to show more than he has of late.
3 KAABER – Won a 6f Class 6 handicap at Nottingham on his first start for this yard but he’s failed to follow up that decent run. He arrives here with questions to answer and this surface is a concern having produced his best form at Wolverhampton.
4 AUTUMN TONIC – C&D winner who has been off the track since an 11 1/2 length defeat at Brighton back in June. He races off his last winning mark (52) today and the booking of Ben Curtis catches the eye. Market support would make him of interest.
5 RAFAAF – Without a win since November 2013 off an 8lb higher mark. He produced some solid runs at Kempton earlier in the year but they were poor races and his best form has come on tapeta rather than fibresand. Opposed.
6 ALL OR NOTHIN – Bumped into a well-handicapped rival when second of 11 over C&D back in April and that came off a 7lb higher mark. The return to this surface and grade could see him bounce back to form with Callum Shepherd back in the saddle.
7 INTERCHOICE STAR – This C&D winner has been off the track for over a year and returns to racing at the grand age of 12. He’s well-below his last winning mark but it’s impossible to gauge the sort of form he’s likely to return in. Market will guide best.
8 MASTER OF SONG – Roy Bowring’s 10yo is another veteran in the race and he’s a multiple course winner. However, his best form has come over further than this and 6f is likely to be too sharp for him now.
9 CLOUDED GOLD – Lightly-raced 5yo making just his eighth career start today. He’s the sort the yard do well with and the first-time cheekpieces make him of interest now switched back onto the fibresand. The market should guide best with Tom Marquand booked to ride.
10 VERY FIRST BLADE – Makes his 98th career start today and he has form on the fibresand so he is of interest now racing 3lbs below his last winning mark. He’s vulnerable to any sort of improver but he should run his race in this grade.
11 LUKOUTOLDMAKEZEBAK – Another runner tried in first-time cheekpieces having shown virtually nothing in weak handicaps and sellers. It would be a surprise to see him take this now dropped back in trip again.
12 GEORGE BAILEY – Has won just one race in 33 career starts which came back in July 2015 for Bryan Smart. He’s produced some mixed form this year although even his best efforts have been below par and the first-time hood may not make much impact.
