A tight looking handicap on the tapeta with some big yards represented. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.
IN SUMMARY: SUBHAAN came within a whisker of breaking his maiden over course and distance and can gain compensation here. He looks to have the most potential in this field but may face tough opposition from Lucky Violet who showed promise on her last outing and the formerly very classy Palawan.
BAHAMIAN BIRD – Won twice earlier in the year off marks of 67 and 72 but began to struggle after those two victories. A mark of 80 proved beyond her but after a couple of below par runs she now races off just three pounds higher than her last success and has been given a break; considered.
LUCKY VIOLET – Finished last of eight when coming off a mammoth break but that run can be scratched and her most recent performance was much more encouraging, now back with match fitness she isn’t out of it if handling the surface on what is her first start on the all weather.
PALAWAN – Was rated 103 once upon a time and has slipped a long way down the weights after some disappointing efforts. Hasn’t raced in this low of a grade for a very long time however and if showing his old spark would be bang there, dangerous to completely discount.
BORN TO BOOM – Held on well to win a handicap at Carlisle two starts ago in August and was tardy from the stalls when well beaten off a two pound higher mark last time out, his last run can be forgiven and if returning to the form of his win he would definitely come here with a solid each way chance at least.
BREANSKI – Became a model of consistency in June and July when not out of the first two in four starts in a row, won off a mark of 69 and now races off only three pounds higher having tried ten furlongs last time, the drop back in trip should suit and no surprise if he gets involved.
JACQUARD – Has been disappointing this year having looked a decent prospect in his two victories last season, has dropped twelve pounds in just three runs recently but rightfully so considering his performances and has plenty to prove here.
SUBHAAN – Made a promising debut behind a pretty useful rival and although he has yet to win he has shown plenty to make you think it is his turn soon. Beaten just a nose in a maiden over this course and distance last time and is right the in thick of things based off that effort.
VENTURA SECRET – Gained three of his four career victories this year and has been in generally good form all season, has raced just twice on the all weather and is yet to win but a mark of 72 isn’t impossible and he goes here with a solid chance.
