IN SUMMARY: Gladys Cooper’s previous turf efforts have been less than convincing which tempers enthusiasm, and would need to reverse placings with the inform Protest. That said, it could well pay to be with MULTIGIFTED, who had excuses last time out and has been knocking on the door this year. She should be up to taking this mediocre looking contest.

1 MOUNT CHEIRON – Has been very modest the last twice and the visor is now put back on to try and perk him back to life. Not fully convinced that will be enough as more often than not he’s been very mediocre since a decent run in the spring.

2 MOSS STREET – Finally off the mark on the Flat when winning over C&D last month, scoring a narrow win. He is now 5lb higher but if in the same form that may well not stop him from following up, considered.

3 MAVERIK – Hadn’t been doing too badly recently before flopping at Wolverhampton latest (1m1f, Std). Needs to up his game to be playing a part in the finish here and not considered today.

4 MULTIGIFTED – Although she has a poor strike rate, she has been performing with credit and had excuses latest when down the field at Kempton over 1m3f. Has been banging on the door this year with plenty of good placed efforts and really should be up to winning this today.

5 GLADYS COOPER – Has been performing well on the All Weather and was 1 1/4 lengths behind Protest who got first run on her that day. Has a big weight pull with that rival and should reverse the form, however, her two turf runs to date have been less than pleasing. That adds a bit of a risk factor to her..

6 PROTEST – Got first run when beating Gladys Cooper at Wolverhampton and then followed up over the same C&D a week later. Goes for the Hat Trick today and clearly in very good heart so very foolish to dismiss him.

7 SKIFF – Form on the turf has been very minor and was incredibly poor on the All Weather latest at Chelmsford (1m, Std). That was handicap debut where he probably should have shown some more promise, so not considered today.

8 JENNY SPARKS – 2nd run back from an absence when 50/1 and 5th of 10 here beaten by 8l. Earlier form far from convincing and can’t be considered today.

9 TROY BOY – 0-31 and makes very limited appeal off the back of some very mediocre efforts season.
