3.35pm Aintree tips for Sunday’s Class 3 race. Smart looking three mile handicap chase, with nine runners going to post chasing a little over £9,000. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.
IN SUMMARY: BALLYARTHUR has always looked like a future chaser, he has been killing time over hurdles without it really looking like suiting him. With another summer of growth behind him, this point to point winner can get back on the winning trail. Kit Casey is another who looks like the switch to fences will see him in a better light, while Some Kinda Lama is interesting on his hurdling form now fitted with first time cheekpieces.
1 LOVELY JOB – Didn’t have to improve to land short odds in a Hexham handicap last time out. Looks progressive at this sort of trip on decent ground so despite the six pound rise for that and a deeper field, he needs plenty of respect.
2 VINTAGE CLOUDS – Hasn’t hit the heights expected over fences so far, showing his best form at Haydock on very soft ground. This looks a workable mark for later in the season, but probably needs a little further and softer ground.
3 PERFORM – Only had three runs in the last two years, struggling the twice he has run in a handicap. Won at this track over two and a half miles back in 2015. beating a solid yardstick in Knockgraffon, interesting now sent over fences given his unexposed profile.
4 MATORICO – Solid form over hurdles, including up to this trip, he hasn’t come close to that in a pair of runs over fences so far. Two and a half miles is arguably his best trip so is easy enough to pass over with stronger stayers in here.
5 SOME ARE LUCKY – Consistent, but has not always looked the strongest under pressure. Yet to conclusively prove that he wants this far but conditions will suit so sure to run his race.
6 SOME KINDA LAMA – Strong stayer, did well over hurdles last season from the front. He didn’t jump well on his chasing debut so first time cheekpieces are employed in a bid to sharpen him up. Placed off this mark over hurdles so interesting if the headgear works.
7 BALLYARTHUR – Solid form without really progressing over hurdles. A point to point winner so fences should suit him much better, we could see a very different proposition this season with another summer on his back, well treated if so.
8 NOBUTTABOY – Failed to go on from winning a novice hurdle last December. This ground will suit and is an ex point to point winner, but can only be watched on his seasonal debut after some abject performances in the early months of 2017.
9 KIT CASEY – Looked a potentially smart prospect when winning at Chepstow in March 2016. Seen just the once since so has to be treated with a degree of caution, but does look as if the switch to fences will see him in a better light.
