Clearly having excuses last time out when behind Tegara, EJAYTEEKAY can return to winning ways in this for the very much in form Hughie Morrison yard, who have had five winners from their last fifteen. Winning on seasonal return at Chelmsford in March when gunning down the leader close home, she was far too keen and wide throughout on her latest start which gives her ample excuse for her poor finishing effort on that occasion. She has been dropped two pounds as a result which will help and she has the assistance of Josephine Gordon as well today so although she does have something to prove this time around, she taken to return to winning ways back on turf with conditions to suit.

Sir Michael Stoute has a strike rate of 32% from his last thirty-one runners and he will be hoping that Aristocratic can add to that list after a promising seasonal reappearance last month. She capped off last season with a good effort at Kempton on the all weather when narrowly denied and her return at Salisbury last month was a career best, finishing second but showing plenty of promise after seven months off the track. The step up to the mile is almost certain to suit and Andrea Atzeni takes the ride which is a big plus so with conditions to suit, she looks a big danger for Cheveley Park Stud.

David Simcock is having a tough time of it of late with only one winner from his last fifteen, though he looks to have a great chance in this with his four year old filly Tegara. She ran consistently well throughout last season and capped the year off with a creditable second at Wolverhampton on the all weather, running on strongly and hinting that a step up in trip would suit massively. She returned this season at the mile trip at Lingfield, not hard pressed to take victory when well on top towards the finish after squeezing in between horses. She has been raised 4lb as a result but she should come on for that run and Sophie Killoran negates the penalty altogether, so another big run is on the card and she’s another to consider.

Although perhaps not the most reliable, Singyoursong is entitled to come on for her reappearance at Brighton and if doing so she’d be very dangerous to discount. Winning twice on the bounce in the summer for David Simcock, she returned this season at Brighton to record a comfortable success in a fillies’ handicap, winning going away and giving the impression more could be expected the next time. She has Jamie Spencer on board this time around and if taking another step forward with conditions to suit she looks likely to be a main player and has to be considered.

A long second to Somehow in the Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes at the Curragh back in August, Epsom Icon does have the form to get involved for Mick Channon but you’d perhaps wanted to have seen more on her British return. She has been running in Meydan for most of the winter and although her best finish was an eight, they were some tough races and that eighth coming on her penultimate start in Group 1 company. She returned to Britain seven days ago when only fifth at Goodwood and well beaten in the end which was disappointing, though that was in listed company and she drops into handicaps now. A mark of 97 does make her interesting and the jockey booking of Jim Crowley could be a statement on intent, so she needs a second look.
