3.20pm Warwick tips for Thursday’s Class 4 race. Some useful types go to post for this Novices’ Chase raced over the two mile distance. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: 15 pounds clear on hurdling ratings, SCEAU ROYAL should have no problem dispatching this field with contempt. He won a Grade 2 at Wincanton last season and wasn’t beaten far in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. With a clear round of jumping he should beat these with his head in his chest, with the main danger being Forth Bridge who only had four runs over hurdles and has scope to make a much better chaser.

1 BALLYHILL – Ran well last season over hurdles for Nigel Twiston-Davies, although he was well held in major handicaps on his final two runs last season. He should make up to be a better chaser for leading connections, but he’ll need to improve to be getting to both Sceau Royal and Forth Bridge.

2 FARM THE ROCK – Maiden in five hurdling starts for Katy Price, well held on most of those starts, including when last seen at Ludlow in February. This drop back in distance isn’t sure to suit and he’s not good enough to win this

3 POSITIVELY DYLAN – Useful hurdler for Evan Williams, just coming up short on his hat-trick bid when disappointing at Newton Abbot when last seen. A drop back to this distance shouldn’t be any concern and conditions will suit, so he’s not one to dismiss as he should improve for the switch to this sphere.

4 SCEAU ROYAL – Smart hurdler for Alan King and he’s comfortably best on hurdles ratings, finishing sixth in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival two starts ago. He is 15 pounds clear on hurdling ratings and he should easily win this under Daryl Jacob with conditions to suit.

5 FORTH BRIDGE – Only four runs over hurdles last season, winning twice and not disgraced when fifth in a Grade 1 at Aintree in April. He is the type to make a much better chaser and he runs for the in-form combination of Charlie Longsdon and JJ Burke, so should be in the mix with seven pounds of allowances.
