3.10pm Newmarket Tips & Betting Preview 22/09/2016

Although only a conditions race, it has a huge amount of quality and we could be seeing some Group Winning fillies of the future. See our betting tips below where we find a filly who is in fine form and deserves to go one better by winning this.

IN SUMMARY: Although a small field, this race could turn into a cracker. The main focus will be around Unforgetable Filly, who demolished a field at Lingfield with the minimum of fuss. She however will most likely be odds on and surely URBAN FOX deserves to win another race. She’s been racing in Group company lately and not disgraced herself either in the process and might just have enough to fend off Palmer’s charge. Storm Cry can’t be discounted either as she has shown good ability in recent runs.

1 STORM CRY – Has shown herself to be of decent calibre in recent times and the trip upgrade to 7f should suit. She needs to improve to beat the top two in the market but her recent run at Doncaster in a decent nursery (6.5f, Good) shows that that could well be possible.

2 UNFORGETABLE FILLY – Good debut 2nd at Newmarket against a horse who has shown herself to be very useful (Sobetsu) shows that Palmer could have a special filly on his hands. She then quite simply destroyed a field at Lingfield in a weaker race a few weeks ago (7.5f, Good), but its hard to judge that run. Very dangerous to underestimate her and she needs to be given a huge amount of respect.

3 URBAN FOX – Went 2 from 2 in two stakes races before showing how useful she was when 4th in a listed race behind some useful fillies at Sandown in July (7f, Good to Firm). Subsequent runs in group company have been good efforts and she has by no means been disgraced, showed by her 3rd in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster (1m, Good). Going back to 7f should be no problem at all and she cannot be taken lightly.

4 HIGHLAND PASS – 25/1 when finishing 4th in a conditions race at Kempton at the start of the month (7f, Std to Slow). Hard to see her playing a big role in this race but Balding’s yard is in good form and her pedigree is very nice indeed. Probably will need this run though.

5 MISS FAY – 3rd on debut when back at Lingfield in August (7f, Good to Firm). Only 4l behind but that run is very low level in the context of this race and again, she will probably need this.

myracing Forecast Prices: 4/7 Unforgetable Filly, 7/4 Urban Fox, 7/1 Storm Cry, 12/1 Highland Pass, 33/1 Miss Fay
