3.10pm Listowel Tips & Betting Preview 16/09/2016

Our race preview takes a look at a middle distance handicap at Listowel. With some pretty dire conditions, see our betting tips below to find a horse who wont get stuck in the mud and can continue her good form.

IN SUMMARY: Jeremy’s Jet hasn’t won in 14 starts but did travel nicely into the race at Navan last time and the heavier ground wont be a problem. However, PALMONES hasn’t been outside the top 3 in her last four starts since managing to get off the mark at Gowran back in June. In this vein of form she cannot be ignored for inform jockey Billy Lee.

1 THEOS WELL – Decent over obstacles recently, although there was a slight blip when pulling up at Cork latest. His flat form isn’t completely inspiring, and although he won his maiden on the flat over 1m5f at Ballinrobe, he seems very high in the weights against these and the others have much stronger claims.

2 PALMONES – Broke her maiden in Good Style at Gowran Park in June (1m1f) in Soft conditions and hasn’t been out of the top 3 in two runs since. In fact, in her last 4 runs she has form figures of 1132 and isn’t showing signs of stopping, with a good performance when having to make up ground at Roscommon latest (1m2f). Doesn’t seem to high in the weights and Billy Lee is in good form, so she cannot be ignored for today.

3 DEW LINE – Pretty easy winner here in Heavy ground conditions on Wendesday (1m1f) and is turned out quickly to go for the double today. Form before that left a lot to be desired and she doesn’t strike as the most reliable type, so shes passed over today.

4 GREANTA – Last win came over a year ago at Roscommon in different conditions (1m4f, Good to Yielding) but has run well in softer conditions in the past. Latest run when 80/1 at Bellewstown (1m6f, Yielding) wasn’t too bad but she doesn’t have the most pressing claims against some in form contenders.

5 JEREMY’S JET – 0-14 but latest run at Navan (1m2f, Soft) was encouraging, when travelling well for a long way before just being out paced towards the finish. Heavy ground holds no fears and can’t be discounted with much confidence, but he does seem to struggle to force himself into the frame.

6 ADOLPIUS – Hood when making some slight encouragement to finish midfield at Tipperary latest (1m4f, Yielding to Soft), but form before that is way off the required standard to win this.

7 ONDAMOURA – Record stands at 1-26 but has been relatively consistent and latest 5th at Galway (1m4f, Soft) wasn’t too bad an effort and is weighted pretty well. Needs more for the win purposes but could be a solid E/W shout.

myracing Forecast Prices: 15/8 Palmones, 2/1 Dew Line, 4/1 Jeremy’s Jet, 7/1 Theos Well, 7/1 Ondamoura, 12/1 Greanta, 33/1 Adolphius
