The first of two filles’ Listed races on Thursday’s Lingfield card is over 1m. Read our full race preview for our experts’ betting tips.

IN SUMMERY: Mise En Rose has the best chance on the adjusted figures but is drawn on the outside and preference is for MUFFRI’HA, who has been in excellent heart on turf this month and, if able to transfer that level of form to Polytrack, looks good enough to overcome the penalty she shoulders for her recent Group 3 success at Newmarket. Battlement is another with a poor draw but she looks progressive and is next on the list. Home Cummins and the French-raider Johara have each-way claims.

1 Muffri’Ha – Bids to complete a quick hat-trick after two wins at Newmarket this month, the first in valuable 1m handicap and the latter in 1m1f Group 3 contest; shouldered with 5lb penalty for more recent success and is untested on the AW but is evidently at the top of her game; commands respect.

2 Gold Sands – Has a bit to find on the figures with some of these but is 2-3 on the AW and comes here after running well to finish second in a German Listed race (1m, good) last month; not yet fully exposed and has realistic each-way claims.

3 Home Cummins – Posted new career-best performance when very close second in big-field Class 2 handicap at York (1m, good) three weeks ago; something extra will be required to win this but she’s well worth a shot at a Listed prize and will be fine on the surface.

4 Johara – Won three times over 6f for Chris Wall in 2014 and was also successful over 6.5f on Polytrack for current French trainer in March; subsequently placed twice in Listed company over middle-distance trips and certainly can’t be ruled out.

5 Volunteer Point – Completed hat-trick with 7f success in the fillies’ and mares’ event on All-Weather Championship day here in March and is also suited by 1m; leading contender if on song but seems to have lost her way (albeit on softish turf) in recent months and has quite a bit to prove at present.

6 Aljuljalah – Still has fairly low mileage, represents a top stable and has shown useful form on her last two turf starts, finishing fourth in a 1m Class 2 handicap at Ascot and second in a small-field 7f conditions race here; needs to improve to make winning AW debut at this level, though.

7 Battlement – Three wins this year, the first in C&D maiden in April and the last two in 7f Class 4 handicaps; coped well with rise to Listed company when third at Ascot (7f, good to soft) this month and, although she needs to maintain her progress to win today, she may improve again.

8 Beauly – Runner-up in Listed company at Newbury (1m2f, good to firm) in June and won her sole previous AW start but was unable to land any sort of blow at Salisbury on latest outing in August and isn’t sure to benefit from today’s drop back in trip; others preferred.

9 Crowning Glory – Has made good progress in handicaps this year, winning three times along the way, and was a very creditable second to Muffri’Ha in a valuable contest at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) at the start of the month; could easily have more to offer but is worse off at the weights with that rival here.

10 Mise En Rose – Collected quite valuable 7f Newmarket handicap in July and has finished second in two turf Group 3 events since then; also ran well when dropped to 6f and fitted with cheekpieces (retained) back at Newmarket this month and 1m on Polytrack won’t be a problem here; major player.

11 Squash – Yet to add to her 2yo maiden win but was placed in two 7f Group 3 events in spring, the more recent on Polytrack here; not seen again since then and has stamina to prove on first attempt at 1m but no surprise if she makes her presence felt.

12 Yeah Baby Yeah – Hit the target in conditions race at Deauville (7.5f, AW) in August and also gave a very good account when 66/1 fourth in Listed contest at Ascot (7f, good to soft) this month but she looks exposed after 18 starts and is likely to find a few of today’s rivals too strong.
