3.05pm Salisbury tips for Wednesday’s Class 2 contest raced over six furlongs for two-year-olds. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.
IN SUMMARY: This is a tricky affair given the poor state of the ground and it could be worth taking a chance on MR TOP HAT. He races off bottom weight here and he’s shown improvement in three starts to date, so the booking of Jim Crowley could be significant. Algam can follow him home with proven form on softer ground.
1 NINE BELOW ZERO – Makes his first start at 6f today and his first on ground worse than Good to Firm. That has to rank as a concern and his form does need to improve having struggled in a York handicap last time out. Best watched.
2 ALGAM – Has winning form on Good to Soft ground and he looks to be improving with each start. This is another step up in class and he hasn’t looked the most straightforward sort but he should be fine on the ground now stepping down in trip.
3 THECHILDREN’STRUST – Caused a major shock when winning a decent Goodwood maiden at 100/1. Connections were surprised by the win but it was a well-earned success and he’s an interesting contender in this on his second career start.
4 HELVETIAN – Slightly more exposed than his rivals, but he’s contested some decent races and he wasn’t disgraced in a Group 1 at the Curragh. This is more realistic and he knows his job so he could serve it up to his less exposed rivals.
5 MR TOP HAT – An improving sort who has posted a couple of decent efforts in Novice and Maiden company. This is a step up in grade but he receives a few pounds from his rivals and Jim Crowley takes over in the saddle. Interesting, although the ground may be an issue.
