3.05pm Chepstow tips for Friday’s Listed contest raced over 2m 3 1/2f for four-year-olds and older. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: All eyes will be on Finian’s Oscar as he seeks to get his chase career off to a winning start. However, he’s no price in this and ALCALA can spoil the party and take this. Paul Nicholls’ entry is race fit and has strong form to his name and he can upset the short odds favourite.

1 ALCALA –  Has been in excellent form throughout the year recording 6 wins from 9 starts. That’s seen his handicap mark shoot up from 130 at the start of the year right up to a rating of 152 today making him the top-rated runner in this. He has a Listed win to his name and he should go well for top connections with fitness assured.

2 AINTREE MY DREAM – Makes his first start over fences today and he could be up against it in this. He has some fair form to his name over hurdles but he struggled when upped in grade and he was well-held in a Listed hurdle event last time out. Best watched here.

3 FINIAN’S OSCAR – Classy sort who is best-treated on today’s terms in this Listed event. He has two Grade One successes to his name and he’s sure to feature as one of the stars at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival if he stays injury free. This is his first start over fences but he should be ready and will take all the beating.

4 TINTERN THEATRE – Has a couple of novice hurdle successes to his name but he should find this too tough on today’s terms. The ground should be perfect for him and he should improve now tackling fences but he’ll face far easier opportunities than this.
