3.00pm Chepstow Tips & Betting Preview 22/11/2017

3.00pm Chepstow tips for Wednesday’s Class 4 race. One of the better races of the day, this thirteen runner handicap hurdle promises to be an interesting affair. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Alfie’s Choice was second to a subsequent winner at Wetherby last time and the third has also come out and won since, so the form stacks up well. He’s a leading player but preference is for FILLE DES CHAMPS, who pulled well clear with the winner when second at Uttoxeter on her latest start. James Bowen offsets the five pound rise she’s been given and a similar performance should see her very tough to beat here.

1 TAMBURA – Quirky sort who is 3/22 over hurdles, pulling up at Warwick on her latest start. She’s been out of form for most of 2017 so she needs to improve massively to be feature here. She’s very hit or miss and for that reason, she’s dismissed.

2 BIG MEADOW – Beaten favourite on all three of her handicap runs thus far, seemingly always struggling when fourth at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. The cheekpieces go on and they need to spark him to life, which couldn’t be discounted. The form is there, so if improving for the headgear he’s a key player.

3 FALCONS FALL – Came from the clouds to win over course and distance back in March but he was struggling from an early stage when pulled up on seasonal debut. Hard to believe that is the best he can do and he may have come on for it, but that is taken on trust.

4 WATERLOO WARRIOR – Five year old who is now 0/8 over hurdles for Colin Tizzard, no match for an easy winner over course and distance winner last seen. He’s on the same mark here though and down in grade, so he holds each way claims once again in ground that will suit.

5 ALFIE’S CHOICE – Returned this season with a career best effort to finish second at Wetherby earlier in the month, with the third horse winning since. He’s five pounds higher here but is on the upgrade and remain with potential for top connections. Key player.

6 CEANN SIBHEAL – Career best effort came when winning at this venue in March for Warren Greatrex, not taking to chasing on his last two starts. Back over hurdles he’s not badly treated if resuming his progressive curve and he shouldn’t be discounted.

7 SARTORIAL ELEGANCE – Has been hugely disappointing since a chase win off today’s mark for Colin Tizzard, tailed off on his latest start at Exeter. He needs to bounce back here back over hurdles, well treated if he was to spark back to life. Hard to rule him out but others are readily preferred.

8 SAM NOIR – Unexposed at this sort of trip for Peter Bowen, third over the 3m 2f trip at Newton Abbot in the summer. He does however need to bounce back from a tame effort last time around, with no real excuses as he’s gone well fresh in the past. Best watched for now.

9 WHO FOR YOU – Last seen in May 2016 where his form was starting to take a nosedive, well beaten at Kempton on that occasion. He returns off a seven pound lower mark which makes him somewhat interesting but he’s entitled to need this.

10 DANDY DUKE – Hasn’t been seen since January 2016, winning in good style to the tune of eleven lengths for Tom George. He will do well to return at his best though after such a long absence and in a competitive heat, he may just be found out today.

11 FILLE DES CHAMPS – Progressive runner who was second at Uttoxeter on her latest start, thirteen lengths clear of the third. She’s five pounds higher here but Mitchell Bastyan takes off that rise and she shouldn’t be for catching if continuing her upwards curve.

12 FOR CARMEL – Third at Limerick two starts ago but his debut for the Paul Henderson yard was disappointing, tailed off in tenth. He is back up in trip here which is a huge help but he does need to bounce back. Others are preferred but he’s an each way contender.

13 SAHARA HAZE – No wins from fourteen starts over hurdles, producing her best effort thus far when fourth at Chepstow on his latest start. She’s on the same mark here but it’s far from guaranteed that she’ll back that effort up.
