IN SUMMARY: BOWSON FRED has been running in some very tough handicaps of late for Mick Easterby and now returned to the all weather, he can get back to winning ways. He placed in a higher grade than this off a five pound higher mark in the past and it’s very hard to see him getting beaten now he’s returned to his favoured surface under seven pound claimer Harrison Shaw. Alsvinder has a great record on the all weather and is feared the most ahead of Landing Night.
BOWSON FRED – Has been running is some very tough races on the turf of late, having excuses at Catterick on his latest start. He’s now five pounds lower than when placing in a higher grade over course and distance in February. He looks very tough to beat now he’s back on this surface.
ALSVINDER – Has a great record on the all weather, winning twice and finishing second on the two other occasions. He was only a length behind an in form rival at Kempton on his lates start and he remains unexposed, so shouldn’t be far away.
RICH AGAIN – Course and distance winner who was in good form on the all weather prior to two heavy defeats on the turf, where his worst form has come in the past. Back on this surface, his current mark isn’t beyond him and he’s a strong each way player.
COOLFITCH – Has gone off the boil since a good second at York in July, suffering heavy defeats in her last five runs for David O’Meara. She’s going to need plenty of luck coming from behind and others are readily preferred.
UPAVON – Has run well here in the past including two second places off higher marks, but he’s been well beaten the last twice since a win at Brighton. The five furlong distance isn’t his best and others look to have bigger claims.
MIDNIGHT MALIBU – Yet tow in outside the months of July and August and he was soundly beaten on his latest start at Catterick, not allowed to dictate. She’s unlikely to get a soft lead here either on all weather debut and can only be watched.
ROSINA – Won two starts ago at Ayr by a very comfortable margin but raised to this mark on her latest start she was soundly beaten off at Musselburgh. Needs to bounce back which would be no surprise but she is a risky play today.
STANGHOW – Ran a terrible race when drawn well at Chelmsford on his latest start, having no real excuses when weakening tamely out of contention. He’s only two pounds lower here and others have far stronger claims.
LANDING NIGHT – Has won two of his last three starts for Rebecca Menzies, having excuses for his only defeat that came in between the two wins. He won comfortably at Newcastle on his latest start and a four pound rise won’t stop him from going close.
