2.35pm Ludlow Tips & Betting Preview 10/11/2016

The third race on Ludlow’s card is an interesting Introductory Hurdle over 2m 5f. See our betting tips and race previews below.

IN SUMMARY: Ballyhill took well to hurdling when winning quite easily at Hereford last month and this longer trip shouldn’t be much of an issue. However, it may pay to give MOSCATO another chance, who was useful on the flat and all hopes were ended on hurdles debut with a shuddering error 3 out. This longer trip should suit and he has leading claims under Leighton Aspell.

1 BALLYHILL – Switching to hurdling from bumpers was seamless when being driven out to a 7 length victory at Hereford latest (2m, Good). Judging on pedigree this longer trip should suit and has leading claims for inform connections, but is conceding 5lb’s to other horses with just as much potential.

2 CRANK EM UP – Bumper winner at Warwick back in April (2m, Soft) and hurdles debut wasn’t devoid of promise when 4th at Ayr latest (2m4f, Good to Soft). Needs to step up and this looks easier but the yard doesn’t seem to be firing and its interesting to note that Aiden Coleman hasn’t ridden a winner in the past 2 weeks from 17 rides.

3 KAIDEN MICHAEL – Point to Point runner up but never traveled when pulled up at Aintree last month (2m4f, Good) and dismissed today.

4 LOOK WEST – Keen and made mistakes when tailing off quickly and pulled up at Market Rasen back in May (2m, Good). Probably best watched today by virtue of that run.

5 MARLAIS – Ran well in defeat when a running on 2nd at Worcester last month on rules/hurdle debut (2m4f, Good). On the basis of that run more is most likely needed but has to be considered for place claims as he seems to stay the trip.

6 MOSCATO – Useful flat stayer for Sir Mark Prescott and was running well until blundering badly 3 out on hurdling debut at Ascot, losing all chance of victory (1m7f, Good). That was in a much hotter race than this, facing Bagad Bihoue who has been winning for fun and Cultivator who looks a smart prospect, so the form shouldn’t be taken lightly. This extra distance will only help and has leading claims today.

7 ROYALS AND REBELS – Won an Irish Point to Point back in February and runs for the inform Charlie Mann stable. Impossible to dismiss him but this does seem like a stiff task on hurdling debut.

8 TOWN PARKS – Brushed aside in two Irish Point to Points and hard to make a case for him based on that evidence, so probably best watched.

myracing Forecast Prices: 1/1 Moscato, 6/4 Ballyhill, 6/1 Crank Em Up, 9/1 Marlais, 16/1 Royals And Rebels, 25/1 Town Parks, 33/1 Kaiden Michael, 40/1 Look West
