2.20pm Lingfield tips for Tuesday’s Class 4 race. It’s time for the flat jockeys to take centre stage as this six runner handicap hurdle. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.
IN SUMMARY: The Game Is Foot sprinted clear on his latest start in a conditionals’ handicap and he can race off the same mark here, which gives him obvious claims. Preference though is for CAPITOUL, who clearly needed his seasonal debut at Bangor in October but ran well in the circumstances. Off two pounds lower, he should prove far too strong for this field as he retains a huge amount of potential after only three runs for this yard.
1 CAPITOUL – Won on his third start for Dr Richard Newland at Ayr in December in maiden company and he wasn’t disgraced when sixth at Bangor on his latest start. He’ll be happier back up in distance and shouldn’t be for catching here with conditions to suit.
2 CRAFTY ROBERTO – Has finished second on four of his last five starts, again finding just one too strong over fences at Plumpton last month. He now returns to timber on his last winning mark and a repeat of his recent performances will see him go close here.
3 COLLODI – NON RUNNER
4 ARGYLE – Four year old for Gary Moore whose best effort over hurdles thus far came when a long third at Plumpton in February. He now switches to handicaps off a mark of 104 which isn’t harsh but he does need to bounce back from a very poor run on the flat in October.
5 THE GAME IS A FOOT – Came from the clouds to win at Plumpton earlier this month, drawing well clear after the last. That was impressive and a similar performance won’t see him far away here, with softer ground perfectly fine.
6 KEEP TO THE BEAT – Six year old mare who was second at Sedgefield on her latest start in a well strung out field, the main problem with that run though is that is was in October 2015. She will need to be at her best to be taking this and after such a long absence, that couldn’t be assured.
7 AMADEUS ROX – Lightly raced sort for Alan King who was disappointing on his latest start at Huntingdon, travelling well but finding very little off the bridle. He makes his handicap debut off a fair weight though and there may well be more to come. Softer ground is a question mark, though.
