2.15pm Redcar tips for Monday’s Class 4 race. Intriguing field for this mile and six furlong handicap, soft ground the order of the day. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.
IN SUMMARY: SILVER LINK has only raced once on soft turf before when running the now 112 rated Mount Moriah to a short head. From a mark of 76, the return to soft should see her off the mark. Nordic Combined loves soft ground, he should be in the mix to add to his excellent record with conditions in his favour. Cornerstone Lad got off the mark last time, if he can improve on that, he can round out the frame.
1 REDICEAN – Sole career win came at this track albeit on very different ground. Yet to run on anything like as soft as this with the majority of Medicean’s not fans of soft, he is best watched.
2 NORDIC COMBINED – Two wins and two seconds from five runs when the ground is soft or worse. He stays this trip well with the cheekpieces back on here to try and coax more from him. Still appears to be progressing, looks one of the main contenders.
3 SILVER LINK – Nice race maiden, her best run came at this time last year when she was narrowly denied by Mount Moriah. That was the only time that she has faced soft ground and given that rival is now rated 112, that makes her a major player.
4 SHERIFF GARRETT – Progressed well this season, runner-up both times he has run over this course and distance. Nine pounds higher than his last win, this demands more again now that his mark has crept above 70 again, each way shout.
5 CORNERSTONE LAD – Slow maturing type got off the mark last time at Pontefract. This trip on soft ground is going to suit him with connections eyeing a novice hurdle campaign for him. Needs a little more but that’s far from impossible.
6 BODACIOUS NAME – Progressive this year on deep ground, he has gone up for twice placing following a Nottingham win. Not handicapped out of things on this new mark, but as he showed when fourth from it last time, he needs another step forward to score.
7 GOOD TIME AHEAD – 0/13 on turf, his mark has gone up the same three pounds that his sand one has for a win at Newcastle last time. Now five pounds higher than when runner-up at Thirsk, this looks beyond him.
8 EYREBORN – Ten race maiden, she went close last time at Ayr when dropped to a Class 6. Tough to support her back up in class given the potential that some of the others in the contest have for improvement.
9 THEGLASGOWWARRIOR – Made a solid enough debut for his new yard last time without quite achieving what he had for Michael Bell. Yet to prove his stamina beyond a mile and a half so easy enough to pass over in a deep race.
