2.10pm Bangor Tips & Betting Preview 28/09/2016

Our race preview takes a look at a Handicap Hurdle at Bangor-On-Dee. See our betting tips below to find a horse who looks to have a good future back over hurdles after a decent flat campaign.

IN SUMMARY: Irish Hawke should have more to give in this sphere and is feared but TEMPURAN was a good 4th back in this sphere last time out when getting to within 4 lengths of a horse who has followed up since. Although he may not be as progressive as some others in the race, that was his first run over hurdles since 2014 and if tidying up his jumping, he could be weighted brilliantly to win this.

1 DOMTALINE – Finally ended his losing run over fences when winning at Stratford at the beginning of the month but hasn’t won over hurdles since 2011. However he has gone close in the past and can race off of the same mark he won over fences with last time out, and Ryan Winks takes off a handy 7lb, so could be interesting.

2 WAZOWSKI – Back down to 2m trip after some very average efforts at 2m4f at various venues since winning over this preferred trip at Hexham in June (2m, Good to Soft). Should prefer this trip but was tailed off in his last handicap appearance so has something to prove and others have much more pressing claims.

3 BUMBLE BAY – Driven out to win when last season at Newton Abbot in June (2m1f, Good to Soft). Is now 8lb higher but that may not be beyond him so has to be respected, but hasn’t always been a consistent performer so risks attached.

4 IRISH HAWKE – Took a while to really get into the grove over hurdles but came good when winning a Novices Handicap at Bangor in August (2m, Good). Up 9lb for that effort but should have more to come so that may not be enough to stop him. However he’s posted some dismal efforts in the past, so could be risky if not taking a forward step.

5 MAOI CHINN TIRE – Last hurdles win came in 2013, however his win on the flat back in April proved that he does still have some fight left in him. Was runner up latest at Perth (2m, Good) when no match for a run away winner, but needs to raise his game further to beat some potential improvers.

6 TEMPURAN – Was having a decent season on the flat before returning to hurdles latest when a good 4th behind a subsequent repeat winner at Newton Abbot (2m1f, Good). Considering that was his first run in this sphere since 2014 it should be expected that he can improve further for that run, and is nicely weighted to run a big race if making that natural progression.

myracing Forecast Prices: 2/1 Irish Hawke, 11/4 Bumble Bay, 3/1 Domtaline, 7/2 Tempuran, 6/1 Maoi Chinn Tire, 14/1 Wazowski
