2.00pm Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview 10/12/2016

Eleven horses go to post for today’s feature race at Newcastle with a prize of £7,763 going to the winner. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: Showdaisy has proved something of a revelation so far for Keith Dalgleish and can run them close here if continuing in the same vein. She may be tapped-for-toe against MEMORIES GALORE who travelled strongly last time when winning, quickening on well to get up by over two lengths. He has a progressive profile and can win more races for his yard that do well with these types. Dynamo Walt has been in good heart lately and can give his running again to fill the minor places.

1 Bosham – Has a good record on the AW, with eight wins from 17 runs. Wasn’t beaten far in sixth of 11 on sole start here. That came in a better race and after a break of 91 days. Good length second behind Gracious John at Lingfield five days ago and off the same mark can go well. Tends to front run, but may be taken on for the lead today with at least three other pace setters in the field and may be set for minor honours again.

2 Poyle Vinnie – Losing streak stretches back to 2015 and only sixth of ten behind Bosham at Lingfield on Monday. On a decent mark, but hasn’t run well in a while and others fancied today for win purposes.

3 Meadway – Won a decent Class 3 at Musselburgh in June over 5f by a length, but has been largely disappointing since. Seems to save his best AW form for Southwell and can be ruled out today on latest run when stone last of 21 runners at Doncaster in a Class 2 event.

4 Memories Galore – Won at Kempton in a Class 4 in taking style ten days ago, quickening well to score by two and a half lengths. 7lb rise to contend with here and has a previous third in the Gosforth Park Cup in June over C&D under his belt. Looks a progressive runner for his yard and his connections can have plenty of good days with him during the winter. Expect him to make a bold bid to follow up.

5 Showdaisy – Has been a fine performer for this yard so far with four wins from seven runs and posted a career best when winning a Class 4 fourteen runner event by one and three quarter lengths. Up another 8lb here, but that is some of the best form on show and looks set to go well again under capable five pound Claimer.

6 Another Wise Kid – Hasn’t won since scoring on the turf at Ripon last September. Never won on the AW and uninspiring form last two runs here and at Wolverhampton eight days ago. Hard to fancy, wearing cheek-pieces.

7 Razin’ Hell – Only third behind Showdaisy at Southwell 30 days ago and has all of his five AW wins on that surface. Makes Tapeta debut today and will struggle to overturn form with that one.

8 Zapper Class – Won on the AW in France before being purchased for 39,000gns. Sixth of 12 on stable debut in a Class 4 at Southwell 30 days ago and should come on for the run, but tougher grade and shorter trip might find him out today.

9 Mappin Time – Won a minor event at Beverley in August but hasn’t won on the AW since early 2015. His last two starts at Wolverhampton and then here have been getting progressively worse and will no doubt struggle again in the same grade.

10 Outrage – Won back-to-back races earlier in the summer and has been largely out of form since. Only eighth of 12 over 6f at Chelmsford on latest start, but on a handy mark judged on those two wins and could creep into a place. Market vibes would be positive.

11 Dynamo Walt – Won a decent Class 3 event at Kempton two starts ago and a fair fourth there on latest start behind Memories Galore. Doesn’t look as progressive as that one judged on pedigree, but likely to give his running again and still on a handy mark. Can get involved.
