An 11 runner Nursery over 5f kicks off Monday’s card on the Polytrack at Chelmsford. Despite being a race for two year olds there are plenty in here who are looking exposed. Read on for our experts tips and runner by runner preview.
IN SUMMARY: Dazacam looks the obvious starting point having won the last twice in impressive fashion. This is a much higher mark for her to deal with but there are plenty with pace who could set the race up for her. She is short enough however and at a bigger price the selection is NUZHA who showed up well on handicap debut last time, The step down in trip looks like it will suit her better and she has a prime draw to attack from. Her Terms looks difficult to win with but the move out of maidens could be the key to improvement and she is entitled to plenty of respect.
Marquee Club – Already had eleven races in his first season of racing action. A dual winner, his two peak efforts have come over 5.5f at Bath and over 6f two runs ago on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton. Both of them suggest that he might do better over slightly further than this.
Erissimus Maximus – Has looked versatile for trainer Chris Dwyer so far with solid efforts over both five and six furlongs on both turf and sand. Placed the last twice under Josephine Gordon, who has the ride again, he should make his presence felt.
Dazacam – Things have really clicked for her the last twice when winning over this trip at Newcastle and Wolverhampton. This is a change in surface and off an eleven pound higher mark than last time is going to find this more difficult. This isn’t an easy track for her come from behind style but there are plenty of front runners in here which could help.
Five Star Frank – Two best efforts have both come at this Essex venue and he makes his handicap debut here. The step back down to the minimum trip looks in his favour but a mark of 71 looks high enough on what he has achieved in maidens.
Dixie’s Double – A fluent winner at Lingfield in the summer, she hasn’t been seen since a poor display at Brighton. One can only assume she picked up a problem that day and as such that run can be discounted but this is her all weather debut so she has a little to prove.
Gerard’s Fur Coat – A winner over C&D on her debut in April, she has found life tougher since. A three pound drop gives her an each way chance but chances are that she will find others progressing past her.
Her Terms – An eight race maiden, she has not really progressed in maidens. Four runner up efforts including three by half a length or less which strike a note of caution and headgear made little difference last time. The positive though is the step into handicap company which could see her in a better light than maidens have.
Street Jazz – Ran well in a pair of nurseries off a two pound higher mark at Haydock and then in first time blinkers at Lingfield. The blinkers didn’t work so well a second time and she is starting to look a little disappointing and is faced with a number of fellow front runners here.
Nuzha – Showed much improved form on her handicap debut last time when run out of things late on over 6f. The step down in trip looks the right move on that and from stall 2, she looks well positioned to attack on a front runners track.
Little Miss Daisy – Sprung something of a shock when scoring at 33/1 at Lingfield earlier in the month. She looked much improved on that occasion and is an each way player on handicap debut if able to build on that.
Oh So Dandy – Six race maiden has the widest draw to work from. He has shown little so far and would be a very surprising winner.
