.40pm Lingfield Tips & Betting Preview 30/11/2016

The 4th race on Lingfield’s flat card is a 1m2f Conditions stakes contested by some useful sorts with 7 confirmed entries. See the full race preview and betting tips below.

IN SUMMARY: Some useful types go for this Conditions Stakes but preference is for MASTER THE WORLD. Useful on turf, he has no problem with the AW as proven when a good 3rd over C&D latest in a listed event and has leading claims for David Elsworth and Shane Kelly. Bancnuanaheireann is also respected but has been poor this year and Battalion was the race last year for William Haggas (now with Jamie Osbourne) and was 2nd in a Group 3 on stable debut so is owed a huge amount of respect.

BANCNUANAHEIREANN – Two wins on the AW have come in Class 2 contests which reads well in the context of this race, but he has been very poor this year and has pretty much fallen off the rails. It’s possible that this return to the AW will be a catalyst for improvement and is highly respected but is a risky proposition.

BATTALION – Won the race last year with William Haggas and now with Jamie Osbourne, he was a good 2nd in a Group 3 at Dundalk latest (1m2f, Standard). Hugely highly consistent and rarely posts a poor effort, he has to be hugely respected at a track where he has won at in the past.

MASTER THE WORLD – Very useful on turf and made a seamless switch to the AW when a good 3rd after a tardy start in a listed race here over C&D earlier in the month. Another highly consistent sort, he seems to still be improving and can improve for that AW experience and make a huge effort in this contest.

PINZOLO – Won twice on the AW for the Appleby yard and now with Ismail Mohammed and was a decent 3rd on the turf at Goodwood in a handicap (1m4f, Good). Probably would prefer a bit further though and may struggle to get on terms today.

READY – Has the conditions he wants but was soundly beaten in a claimer latest at Wolverhampton (1m, Standard). Is completely up against it on stable debut and should struggle today.

MANSON – Likes the all weather, with a win and a 2nd thus far, that coming when running on but not quite getting there at Chelmsford (1m2f, Standard). Very lightly raced but hasn’t yet gotten near the required standard for this and probably will settle for minor honors at best.

SOMETHINGTHRILLING – Comfortably dismissed his opponents here latest over 1m, but a race of this nature requires much more and seems to be the stable 2nd string.

/8 Master The World, 2/1 Battalion, 4/1 Pinzolo, 5/1 Bancnuanaheireann, 9/1 Manson, 14/1 Ready, 20/1 Somethingthrilling
