1.05pm Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview 11/11/2016

A very decent pot of £7,473 at Newcastle for this five runner 0-135 handicap over the extended two miles. Read on for our expert betting tips and runner by runner preview.

In Summary:  A fascinating handicap for novice chasers with a case to be argued for each of them.  Pistol Park and Danielle’s Journey both look likely to appreciate any further rain and the former especially could progress plenty this season.  Chidswell should make a chaser but likely over further so the best bet is LAKE VIEW LAD.  He improved rapidly over hurdles last season and he looks like he will be a better chaser given his size.

1 Lake View Lad – Progressed into a smart hurdler last season having taken a couple of tumbles earlier in the campaign.  Has always looked as if he would make a better chaser given his shape and size and he could be an exciting recruit to the ranks this season.  It would be a disappointment if he couldn’t start out with a win.

2 Chidswell – Another who was a decent hurdler although he was generally campaigned over further.  A return at Carlisle over this trip looked solid and he is entitled to improve for that.  Likely to make up into a decent chaser this season but possibly over a more testing trip.

3 Danielle’s Journey – Landed a sizeable gamble when winning at Ayr in February.  Pitched in deep the next time at the Cheltenham Festival, she returned to form with a pair of placed efforts to round out the campaign.  The small field may not play to her strengths, she could get tapped for toe before staying on again.

4 Boss Des Mottes – Already a winner over the bigger obstacles, that could stand him in good stead.  He wins no prizes for consistency however and this could prove a little competitive for him despite the small field.

5 Pistol Park – A winner on his British debut, some more rain would not harm his chance.  His Hexham win is nothing special in terms of form but the Brian Ellison yard are in sound heart and his trainer has described his as “a grand horse” so there is every chance that he will be one to watch as the season progresses.
