7.15pm Wolverhampton Tips & Betting Preview 26/11/2016

This has the makings of a decent Handicap with some solid form horses on display. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: Keystroke will be popular after his decent run at Lingfield 2 weeks ago and has relatively low mileage on the All-Weather. Michele Strogoff can get involved if improving on his 3rd at Redcar last time out as can Unforgiving Minute who can follow up his win at Chlemsford if getting the race run to suit. The selection however is FINGAL’S CAVE, who has a good strike rate judged on this year’s run and can be forgiven his last run at Doncaster. His trainer has a wonderful strike rate when bringing sole runners to these meetings and the hint should be taken for a return to winning form here.

1 Grey Mirage – Made seasonal debut when a decent 3rd in a Handicap at Lingfield 2 weeks ago. Looks to have a good chance if building on that here and trainer is still in good form. NON-RUNNER

2 God Willing – Last win came 4 starts back in September at Newcastle when winning an 8-runner event cosily by ¾ of a length. A decent second two starts ago at Leicester but flopped last time at Doncaster when last of 17. Up in trip today and hard to fancy making Tapeta debut.

3 Keystroke – Won over C&D here back in March getting up to win by a nose in a Lincoln Trial. That was a good run and whilst a mixed-bag since, finished a decent enough 4th last time out Lingfield 2 weeks ago to suggest he could play a part now. Good chance.

4 Mythical Madness –  Gelding by Dubawi who has had only 1 run this year for Brian Ellison having previously been trained by Charlie Appleby. That resulted in a win here 7 days ago, staying on well to score by 2 lengths in a Claimer. Higher mark today and this tougher. Having first run for David O’Meara who continues to have winners.

5 Michele Strogoff – Won at Deauville comfortably in August and fair form since. 3rd of 11 in a decent Handicap at Redcar on Gd/Sft 25 days ago and wears blinkers again today. Solid place-claims.

6 Rousayan – This will be his 10th run since last winning at Beverley in May when staying on nicely over 1m to win by 3 lengths. Only 9th of 14 at Chelmsford 5 days ago and Handicapper looks to have his mark right now.

7 Jack Of Diamonds – Has won over C&D 3 times, the last coming in April when getting up to score y ¾ of a length. Stone last at Haydock last month and will need a career-best to land this. Can be overlooked today.

8 Unforgiving Minute – Won a decent seller at Chelmsford 31 days ago when a well backed favourite. Won readily 3 ¼ lengths and on a good mark to follow up. Makes Tapeta debut and up in trip today. Place claims.

9 Jacob Black – Hasn’t won since landing the odds at Sandown in May 2015. Had first run since June 2 weeks ago and could only manage 11th of 12 behind Keystroke in 4th. Out of form in 3 starts this year and doubt he will be able to make an impact here.

10 Lexington Times – Desperate strike rate with 18 runs since last win at Lingfield last March. Only 10th of 13 in a Handicap at Newcastle 9 days ago. Upped in trip today and that could really stretch his stamina. Easy to ignore.

11 Faithful Creek – Previously trained by Brian Meehan and hasn’t won since 2014. Decent 7th of 20 in a Handicap at Newmarket 64 days ago when blocked during the race. Makes Tapeta and stable debut today and not ruled out on career-low mark. Market will guide as to his chances.

12 Miss Van Gogh – Won at Nottingham in May when staying on strongly to win by 3 ¼ lengths. 7 runs since then including when making AW debut at Newcastle earlier in the month. A disappointing 8th in that and hard to fancy in this company.

13 Fingal’s Cave – Has won 3 times this year form 11 runs including here in February, Brighton in April and Epsom in June, impressive in all 3 wins. Was well below form when only 9th of a 19 runner Handicap 3 weeks ago and up in trip today. Should get involved if putting his best foot forward and dangerous to rule out.
